And one of them just gave up its elec immunity. Defensive tera often gives you momentary momentum at the cost of compromising your defensive core long term

Because a Fairy Tera Kambit nuking Zamazenta gets STAB + SE vs HP would only have SE bonuses. Defensive Tera is a one time reversal that doesn’t translate as often to a KO which is the ultimate objective

If you want practical examples of mons using Tera to shore up their lack of physical stabs you have the flyers I mentioned and Ghosts like Pult

You’ll see mons flip their type MU defensively with Tera to pick up a free turn to set up (Volc, Dnite, Moon) while also running TB coverage

Defensive Tera is also not a huge deal. For example Gliscor running tera water means that instead of getting blown away by Wogre it gets bopped by the Raging Bolt in the back

Certain Flying types don’t get good Flying Stab (Lando, Dnite, Gyra) will sometimes run Tera Fly to muscle past Zama and generally just have a good strong option

@Finchinator2 As a thought experiment, would having more options on the defensive side such as Ferro, or Tang have helped? Ferro strikes me as a mon who would have offered role compression by checking Ogre, Kambit and Dnite without losing to Bolt. And Tang would have both Donphan variants
