Working towards creating more sustainable farms in Ontario 🇨🇦 | Account run by: Madison, Kaitlyn, Ethan & Hannah | Animal Outputs 1 🐮💩 | @IdeasCongress
Also, tyty @DrDanielGillis & @shoshanahjacobs !! U both are so engaging in ur teaching and it's so heartwarming to see profs like u that care so much about their students. Twitter doesn't give me enough characters to explain how great u both are! @IdeasCongress #CircularFarm
Starting to reflect on all the things we’ve learnt this semester in @IdeasCongress from active listening & respecting your audiences needs to farmer mental health and taking care of our own mental health (+ lots of information about manure)!! We’re all going to miss this class ☹️
As the #CircularFarm project comes close to an end for us (the continuous search for more sustainable farming never stops!), we would say one of the most challenging aspects was figuring out HOW we would appeal our idea to farmers & WHY should they participate? ♻️💩🐮

In the home stretch of our @IdeasCongress final project and we feel great! 😎 Working on making our presentation concise and interesting while still getting our most important points across! Can’t wait to see everyone’s final presentations next week! #CircularFarm
Super excited to see how our teamwork in @IdeasCongress works out over the next few weeks! Our team has come up with a plan to reduce the methane content of manure, and our sister team @ACircularFarm has come up with a plan to reduce the amount of leftover manure overall.
How we respond to feedback matters! Before students read peer feedback, we discuss this. Why? Feedback is not an indication of where you went wrong, it is someone else’s interpretation of your work based on their experiences @shoshanahjacobs @DrDanielGillis @IdeasCongress
We got back our comments for our proposals! In this class, we learned that feedback is never the final evaluation. Instead, it is simply a reflection of how other people perceive and value our work in the context of their experience or expertise. @IdeasCongress #CircularFarm
Working on handling critical feedback from our peers and professors to make our #CircularFarm solution the best it can be! 🏆 Reminding ourselves that feedback is the views of others on our project and using our “yes, and” mindset as @JessiNelsonDuck said! @IdeasCongress
The circular economy at work - from autoparts to coffee pods, the @UofG Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre is leading the way on bioplastics that use plant fibres and recycled agricultural plastics. #CdnAg#OntAg@UofGuelphOAC
We are so excited to discuss how our ideas can be integrated! Let’s reduce methane emissions and manure waste on farms together 🚜🐄 #AnimalOutputs#CircularFarm
Better yet, due to its high residual nitrogen content, this manure is still an effective fertilizer for many crops! Maybe our idea can be connected to @ACircularFarm's idea to create a trading system for manure and other goods… (5/5)
