What I find most notable about this chart is that at its peak the US nuclear buildout was actually faster than the current Chinese one. If we could do that 50+ years ago we should be able to do much better today.
.@SemiAnalysis_ describes the invisible output of AI. What about the dark "drag" / negative externalities / spam?
For instance, when I want to buy something, my agent contacts more businesses to request quotes than I used to do by myself. Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting their time. That's value destroyed for those businesses.
AI Dark Output: The Visible Cost of Invisible Output
Why AI's increasing output is going to be one of the hardest economic measurement problems in history.
AI "Dark Output" could end up being the majority of economic activity, but a challenge to measure.

The largest-ever lifespan analysis of 601 mTOR modulators is now completed! This project has been driven by Rapamycin Longevity Lab (@omipalRLL) in partnership with @OraBiomedical (CEO @benblueAK, CSO Yan Ting Zhao, AI Engineer Ishan Ranasinghe, Co-founders @mkaeberlein , @BKennedy_aging, @mitchellblee33, @jangruber467 & Jason Pitt). Our mission has been to identify compounds even more potent than Rapamycin in extending lifespan in roundworms.
I am deeply grateful for the community’s support for this historic project and big thanks to all our sponsors who made this possible!

PS 1: Big thanks also to Victor Björk for the help with the fundraising!
PS 2: All lifespan data is now available on the Rapamycin Longevity Lab’s LID database (link in the comment section). You can find the top 20 and bottom 20 lists right here in the social media image! Big thanks to Andrew Steele (@statto) for the great suggestion to create a bottom list as well!
PS 3: The next step is to collaborate with different parties to analyze the data and also see if the data translates to other species. Reach out if you want to collaborate!
@cremieuxrecueil "no increase in the risk of Lewy body dementia" => But Brennan and Tinworth 2025 conclude "Lewy body dementia (OR 1.32, 95% CI 1.23–1.41)".
Throwing this into the accent arguments

Emerging markets run on WhatsApp: groceries, bookings, tradesmen, services, even banking.
Many businesses never built websites or apps.
With AI agents, what looked like a defect becomes an asset: give your agent WhatsApp access through wacli, and it can operate through the interface everyone already uses.
No APIs. No slow and buggy browser use.
Emerging markets may leapfrog web 2.0 straight into the agentic era!
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen: a standing ovation for the full Daraxonrasib results
I feel inspired and energised, to put it mildly — we have a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer now, and nothing is undruggable anymore
In a footnote to Capital, Marx brought up a testimony of a French worker. In France, he assumed he could do just one specific type of job (= printing). In California, he discovered that he in fact can do anything & all the constraints he faced in Europe were purely artificial
The aristocracy had to rely on large numbers of people for labor and military manpower. Those masses demanded concessions, diluting pure merit-based hierarchies.
Q: Do AI and robotics change the equilibrium?
I mean, it's a good question. Why hasn't human civilization naturally developed into a brutal aristocracy of the highly moral and high-IQ? Why don't we have a global "130 IQ high-trust Anglo" paradise already?
What mysterious force obviously overcomes and beats intelligence?
1/ US biotech is in crisis, right before AI should be saving millions.
China is stealing away our industry and has surpassed the US in blockbuster pharma deals.
The next FDA Commissioner must be a fighter, and have a plan to overhaul the agency, beat China, and unleash cures.
Legal AI superempowers normal individuals with no legal background to fight big institutions in bureaucracies and in courts on a level knowledge/skill playing field, for the first time in human history. As such, it is one of the most inspiring applications of AI.
We took another look at the capability gap between open-weight and proprietary models. Since the start of the year, open-weight models have lagged the state of the art by four months.
