**Exciting Update**
I am pleased to share that I have signed a contract with Cambridge University Press to publish my upcoming book, titled "Criminal Justice in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Non-Dystopian Approach to Automated Law Enforcement." This is the result of hard work, resilience, and, just as importantly, the support of peers, friends, and mentors. I am truly grateful to everyone who believed in me, encouraged me to pitch this project, and supported me through the challenging peer review process. Special thanks to the editors at Cambridge University Press, Sharon McCnnan and Matthew Gallaway, for managing the peer review process fairly and collegially. Having published one of my recent articles with Cambridge University Press, I have come to appreciate the professionalism of their editors in an environment that can sometimes prioritise commercial interests over intellectual curiosity, informed academic debate, and the well-being and dignity of authors. I look forward to completing this book and dedicating it to all those who supported and inspired me.

Yesterday, Professor Ashley Braganza and I had the privilege of attending the ‘A.I. Series: Shaping Regulation for Artificial Intelligence’ dinner event, organized by the Industry and Parliament Trust at Westminster.
The event was chaired by Lord Chris Holmes of Richmond MBE, the proponent of the UK AI Bill currently under consideration. I had the opportunity to share my perspective on how AI should be regulated in the UK and the lessons we can learn from the rushed EU AI Act.
There seemed to be consensus that AI regulation must be ‘right-sized,’ but it is also clear that the UK needs to act more decisively to ensure that AI development and deployment are responsible. This becomes even more critical considering that one of the UK’s biggest trading partners, the EU, has already adopted its own comprehensive regulation. It is crucial for UK companies to be able to innovate within ethically acceptable standards, which would ultimately lead to a more competitive sector in the market for compliant, responsible AI technologies.
It was also a pleasure listening to the insightful remarks from the other speakers: Professor Prof Albert Sanchez-Graells from Bristol University and Stefanie Valdes-Scott (Head of Government Relations & Public Policy for EMEA at Adobe). The discussion particularly benefited from remarks by Lord Kitchhope of Harrogate, Lord Browne of Ladyton, and other attendees, who asked challenging questions and made thoughtful observations.
I am grateful to the organizers and participants.
