Actually it is false news. I have checked no official G.O is released. Previous DMK government cancelled The frequent renewal fee was effectively scrapped by the March 2, 2026 amendment (G.O. Ms. No. 51), once school is granted recognition

Actual Renewal fee structure, Under the Tamil Nadu Private Schools (Regulation) Rules, 2023, schools were required to renew their recognition every three years. 

The official application fee for this 3-year renewal was relatively small—₹5,000 for primary schools and ₹10,000 for middle, high, and higher secondary schools. 

On March 2, 2026 (two months before Chief Minister Vijay assumed office on May 10), the DMK government passed an amendment (G.O. Ms. No. 51). This amendment slashed the recognition fees and vastly extended the validity of the certificates.
