@emmabeh353@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 Hi Emma! That was such an important part of the topic! Sometimes the approach towards these food choices is very crucial! #beh353
Hi @EmmaDArpinoRD I really enjoyed this week’s lecture! Especially the comparison between different kinds of milk! As someone who grew in a country where most people get their cow milk unpasteurized from farms, It was crucial learning about them and picking the right one! #beh353
As a future healthcare professional, with an interest in pediatrics, I would highly recommend all parents to read this article https://t.co/f44ODoms0H as it is a great source of information and so REALISTIC! An interesting perspective to observe as well. #BEH353
@NutritionByJers@beh353 That is so crucial! Helping a patient with their weight journey, should go beyond appearance or stereotypes. It is all about their well-being and healthy lifestyle. #beh353
I learnt that 95-98% of attempts to lose weight through diets fail and that 2/3 of dieters gain back more than they lost. The reasons are biological and irreversible. It is important to treat patients with respect and dignity while helping them manage their weight. #beh353
@AniOurfalian@beh353 Totally agree! It is important for children to be active and outgoing, which they can achieve by appreciating nature and spending less time with electronics. #beh353
One fact that stood out to me was how lack of sleep can cause obesity. Apparently it affects hormones involved in energy balance, in a manner that affects weight gain. After realizing this I will start being more careful with getting all the necessary hours of sleep! #beh353
@Madison_2624 @beh353 I agree! Lack of time management is a big issue. What I usually do is purchase a lot of products one a month or 3 weeks so I don’t have to go back. #beh353
One of the barriers that I have encountered is the expected consumption of unhealthy foods in certain situations such as in social outings. Sometimes I feel like it’s impossible to not consume unhealthy foods when you’re out in a social setting. #beh353@beh353
Imagine melting a dollop of butter-like spreads over warm toast. Yum! @USDA_ARS Researchers are working hard to make butter-like spreads healthier by replacing saturated fats with plant-based fats. Read more here: https://t.co/9wNpuxIxDG
I always enjoyed eating cereal as kid but now, I have substituted it with overnight oats, in which I add some nuts, berries and honey. Way more delicious and nutrient dense! @beh353#beh353
@PAalexysf@beh353 Hi Alexys! It seems like a yummy 24 hour recall and eating food that naturally contains probiotics is definitely a plus! #beh353@beh353
