“Probably thought that my career would be short and sweet”…forever thankful to Gardner-Webb and Lenoir-Rhyne for my six-year career and the best times of my life
Changes of direction aren’t sharp enough to be technical mastery or fast enough to be speed.
Bags 👎🏼
Reacting to pointing only gets you better at reacting to pointing (Google, it’s true)
Contact isn’t firm/strong enough for power and absolutely zero technique why even have it?
The biggest competitive advantage at the high school level right now is nutrition.
Big time programs are investing through boosters or grants to feed their athletes throughout the day.
I think people would be shocked how many kids don’t eat breakfast, and not always by choice
If a school wants to add performance training into the school day, here’s how to do it right.
✅ S&C coach
✅ Schedule whole teams in one period
✅ Head coaches present for their team’s lift
✅ Non-athletes get their own period. Only allowed in athletic periods with permission
Yal will be passionate about some pants but won’t hold referees accountable for bad calls, won’t make a rule for offensive targeting when runners use their helmets as battering rams to run through defenders, and can’t even come to terms on clear concise objectives to qualify for the playoff …. But na, PANTS MUST BE TOP PRIORITY 🤣🤣🤣
While, we don't have an "Athletics Period" during the day like Texas...
We do have "Athletic PE" during the school day where our kids train Speed, Strength, etc. for credit.
We also have Homeroom at the end of the day starting at 2:34pm. Kids that have practice can go to practice at that time.
Our football practices are finished between 4:30-4:45pm everyday.
Keeping kids FRESH and HEALTHY (mentally and physically) is a Pillar of Sprint-Based Football.

When I see these kids transfer and announce it with graphics I’ve never seen them say they are taking their academic talents to a school. Most kids are going to play sports. Most parents and kids know when a school isn’t up to par academically and will steer their kids away before they reach HS. I was a victim on that with a few kids from a MS. Parents told me they wanted their kids in a STEM program and we didn’t have it so I lost those kids before they got to HS.
Another reason for S&C classes during the school day: kids after school schedules are OVER schedule- homework, work, practice, games, social life. If they can get it done during an elective. Let them! Their school experience doesn’t end after the last bell. Make their life easier
The school day should be shorter. Way too much wasted time.
I understand parents need the babysitting.
New plan. School til 1, then all kids must be involved in an extra-curricular til... u name the time.
Play a sport, play chess, learn to play an instrument!
