Another Baloch activist is on the brink of deportation. Rashid Ahmed is facing deportation to Pakistan, where his life could be in grave danger. His family has already lost loved ones, and sending him back will put his life at serious risk.
Rashid Baloch is not just another asylum seeker. He fled his homeland because of threats to his life, yet even in exile, he continues to speak out against human rights abuses in Balochistan.
What makes the Baloch nation stand out to other nations, is that leaving their homeland does not mean abandoning their struggle. Even in exile, Baloch activists continue to raise their voices against oppression, despite the risks to themselves and their families back home.
Their commitment to their cause does not end at the border. Rashid’s case is another reminder of the dangers Baloch political activists face, even when they seek safety abroad.

I am deeply concerned over the detention of Baloch activist Rashid Ahmed, also known as Fida Baloch, by Dutch authorities. If deported to Pakistan, he could face a serious risk of enforced disappearance, torture, or even death in custody, as has happened to many Baloch activists.
The Dutch authorities must not ignore these risks. Rashid’s life and safety must be protected, and he must not be deported to a place where he could face such dangers.
