" I wanted [Gregg] Troy to make me into something great. I told him ‘I don’t want to be just a 50 freestyler. I want you to squeeze out every bit of talent that I have to make me a great athlete'.” @caelebdressel@calicondors_isl@GatorsSwimDv

One thing you should remember when 'elite' coaches at National sports academies take the credit for producing elite athletes - the athletes were elite quality before they arrived.
They don’t want to fail so they don’t take risks. Or if they do take them, they’re uncalculated risks, because they’ve not been trained how to think. https://t.co/5a2o4537mf
Despite their VERY abnormal appearance, athleticism and yes... pay cheques... pro-athletes have all of the same fears, insecurities and stressors as the rest of us. They are not robots and are susceptible to mental/emotional ruts just like anyone else.
Is not the measure of coach what they do with what they have? If you have championship talent you should win championships. I value a coach you can take an average team or athlete and get them to punch above their weight.
A call to action from a great coach: "turnover as a symptom of a lack of development within NRL clubs...The needs of the job in the last decade have grown...there is very little education- other than playing rugby league- that goes into coaching our sport" https://t.co/tLjql5r7u7
