@SouthBankMatt Physio and Doc were repeatedly testing his ACL on field before he came off. Also looked like he was saying it felt unstable. Not hopeful

@iDrSunny @pplmakemecrazy Fair point re colour of aspirate but the act of aspiration of olecranon bursitis is a well known risk factor for developing infection - possibility of introducing an infection if not one already present. Have seen these rip through an elbow joint quickly. Not for primary care imo

[Chris Bradford @APPBradders]

@iDrSunny @pplmakemecrazy If that lump was an olecranon bursitis the gp should be going nowhere near it with a needle - high risk of septic arthritis in these - should have been referred in to Ortho - particularly if signs of infection that warranted antibiotics. Also hope he is ok

I keep reading criticism of the NHS.

The NHS saved my life.

At 6:15 am on March 1st this year I was taken by ambulance to @StGeorgesTrust , which thankfully is a cardiology training hospital, after having a heart attack.

The previous week I had been running, training and doing pull ups in the gym. I had no symptoms whatsoever. My diet was really good. I was apparently just genetically unlucky according to the cardiology professor.

On arrival at the hospital, I was immediately operated on and the blockage in my arteries was removed while I was fully conscious and talking to the doctors.

I had two more operations after that.

Within weeks of that I was touring the U.K., scoring films again and in June we played Glastonbury to a live audience of thousands televised to millions by the BBC.

This year, as a @TheBookerPrizes judge and composer, I’ve read 158 books, scored numerous film and tv projects and I’ll be performing my own new composition about my heart attack and playing my album back catalogue with @the_halle orchestra at @BridgewaterHall on December 5th.

None of that would have been possible without the incredible NHS.

If you feel the NHS has not delivered for you, blame the absurd government we had for 14 years who treated NHS staff like slaves, while handing £billions of our money to their friends. They ran down the NHS so they could sell it off for an American-style system. Hard working people in America have to sell their houses to pay for the kind of life-saving help I was given for free (notwithstanding my lifelong NI contributions).

When I applauded the NHS staff during lockdown, I was applauding the dedication of people who put our lives first. I’ve now seen them do that with my own life firsthand.

I am so thankful to live in a country that many idiots try to label as “woke” or other pejorative subversions of compassion.

When your health experiences a glitch, as it inevitably will one day, it’s the NHS who will put it back on course.

Pay the doctors, pay the nurses, pay the staff. They work insane hours and bloody hard.

Nothing any of us does is as valuable.

Nothing to see here, just the guy who bought Twitter having free speech explained to him by a cat

@elonmusk But our kids don’t have to have active shooter drills in school. I think I prefer it here thanks Muskyboy 👍🏻

GP Core funding is just £107.57/patient/year
@BMA_GP
@DAUK_GP has until now been using the average total figure £165 which includes premises payments, prescribing income & payments for QOF, which are not part of the core contract
Either way it’s not enough

Jacob Rees-Mogg is no longer a Tory MP after Labour won his seat last night.

The wise guys of the Conservative Party have run out of road.

[Farrukh @implausibleblog]

Conservatives are promising 100 GP surgeries

In 2010, there were 8,458 GP surgeries
In 2024, there are 6,311 GP surgeries

So 2,147 GP surgeries have closed since the Conservatives took office in 2010, and they are trying to entice you with 100?

Have some self respect and vote for Labour, LibDem, Green, SNP, Plaid Cymru, whichever candidate will remove your Conservative MP

[Jonathan Davies CBE @JiffyRugby]

This is brilliant
