@ProfSchrepel Interesting. You do not mean Act as in Regulation, since you mention NIS2. NIS had it as well, in 2016, art. 18(2). So in 2016 at least two. And, in 1995, obviously, art. 4(2) Directive 95/46 required one. Outside the digital realm there are also several examples from before 2016
Surprizes :-) in Amsterdam
I am getting used to it, but still
Yesterday paid 5,25 for a soda (and was even surpised some week ago to pay 4,25)
Some years ago when I paid 6 euro for a small bottle of beer
Some years ago when I paid 8 euro for a bottle of water
So now you NEVER get a teams meeting. No matter if you reply with meeting, or via the Teams icon with meeting. No Teams links anymore.... (so totally the opposite what it used to be).
@Outlook If you reply to an e-mail with Teams, you get a Teams meeting. If you reply with just Meeting, you get the same, a Teams meeting. So no matter you chose A or B, you always get A. Could you please change this, so replying with meeting gives you an ordinary meeting? Thanks
EU publishes consolidated texts of amended directives. The DSA amends Directive 2000/31/EC by deleting Articles 12-15. In the consolidated text this seems the only change. The Dutch implementation in art. 6:196c BW was deleted 2/2/2025. Curious what other Member States also did.

It is your father
Why are you going?
It is rude to talk on a phone in a restaurant
It is also rude to play on your phone in a restaurant and surf the internet
Basically what all of you are doing right now is rude
In legal scholarship, too many papers are not particularly interesting. This is not a new phenomenon, but AI may exacerbate it. What we need are well written, analytical papers, original in their ideas. References should add value: too often, they amount to empty signaling.
Yesterday I had โStreets of Philadelphiaโ stuck in my head and thought the Boss could rewrite the lyrics. Also, I told yesterday the new students I hardly post here and might stop. So here I am. The Boss wrote this song, about the horror.

A non-issue is not really an issue so a non-paper... Strange name, but apparently common. Never encountered it before.
Non-paper by the Netherlands on the Digital Fairness Act

Even when AI-generated music, films, scholarly texts are impressive, is that what we want? I notice getting tired by reading AI-produced material. Enjoyment seems related to know that a human created. Like humans playing chess is engaging, way more than watching computers.
Brussels Effect (Bradford 2012/20) avant la lettre in Goldsmith & Wu (2006): Directive 95/46 as global law โresults from the unusual combination of Europeโs enormous market power and its unusual concern for its citizensโ privacyโ p. 176 - considered Cybercrime Convention failure
Digital learning environment Canvas. So not intuitive: you publish, get green sign, but it is not published, because folder it is in is not published. This month again two colleagues thought they published but did not. Also I sometimes still make this mistake

Several of my students are robots.
Never understood this algorithm behind the automated check on websites whether you are a robot. I normally pass the test, but not every human apparently.
Negative Google reviews posted by criminals and then asking money to remove them. Targetting small businesses. Was just told about it by colleague who used a moving company that is a victim. Hope Google helps to weed it out.
Since 2015, Cabanac (..) uncover published papers that aren't upfront about their use of AI tech. As computers have gone from spitting out veritable gibberish to convincing, human-like compositions, the fight has gotten harder.

This observation about personal ads seems equally applicable to language models:
Often the results are ludicrously inaccurate; sometimes they are creepily precise
(maybe with LLMs the often and sometimes interchange)
