@EForcione1989 They had some push back at the beginning. "we have to make our own notes?". My response "You are thinking not mimicking, you will thank me in the future." By October, they looked forward to note making! #Summer6110

This may interest you. I will be honest, I have never thought to use graphic novels in my science or math classroom. I should follow the evidence and give it a try!
Embrace Visual-Based Storytelling: Add visuals to all your lessons to enhance clarity and understanding. Visual aids, graphs, and illustrations help students grasp concepts effectively in various subjects, including math and science. https://t.co/cVQ1deVciR

@EmilyG426546442 Here is an interesting article: https://t.co/Z0qMdZE1El
It discusses how second language program influences the development of math concepts. #Summer6110
@JeremyyBoudreau You are welcome! Here is a link for more information if you are interested! #thinkingclassroom has completely transformed my math classroom from traditional "I do, we do, you do." #Summer6110 https://t.co/2QvM6TUwXX
This infographic outlines the 14 practices of #thinkingclassroom. In September, my goal is to implement #toolkit4. Where is anyone else in their implementation? #Summer6110
#BFC530: What educational trends or theories influence your practice?
#ThinkingClassroom changed my teaching practice overnight & I'm still learning to implement it better, more fully & across all subject areas 10 years later!
@brookebirm That is fabulous to hear! I would recommend starting the school year with non curricular tasks to cultivate a culture of thinking and learning. Here is an excellent list: https://t.co/OjpMWD12Hb #Summer6110
#thinkingtasks need to be given orally. "Drives group to discuss rather than decode text on a page" (Liljedahl, 2016,p.381)

@mme_ginette That is fabulous! An important step in building thinking classrooms is creating "flow". For this to happen, all students must be able to read all their peers boards. So you have to have all vertical surfaces visible!

My favorite review game is "Attack". I facilitate this in my #buildingthinkingclassroom and students are very engaged. I highly recommend for any grade level or subject.
@BrookeBoutilier I love this continual cycle model! In the past, I've had students decorate cookies to represent mitosis and create a comic explaning the process.
#keepthinkingquestions are open ended questions to keep students thinking. My favorite prompts are:
Would you bet a million dollars this is correct?
Are you asking me or telling me?
Is this always true?
Anyone have any keep thinking questions to share?
#Summer6110
A few of my favorite KEEP THINKING prompts:
What would happen if_______?
Are you asking me or are you telling me?
Let's see where________takes you.
I bet you_______that_______.
Does______remind you of anything?
Please feel free to add and share out.

#buildingthinkingclassroom assessment places emphasis on learning rather than solely grades. Teachers let go of outliers and early, "not knowing". Students have differentiated opportunities to improve. #Summer6110
Still figuring out #buildingthinkingclassrooms. Gave an assessment last week and returned it to Ss with only a check, m, b, or x for each of the problems No grade or percent! When I returned it Ss went through and marked their progress for each topic.
