If you drive to work 5Xs a week
& switch to another mode 1X a week,
you’d reduce your contribution to congestion by 20%. You’re not STUCK in traffic: #youaretraffic https://t.co/IIFGkARc9T
@mdahmus You’re confusing CapMetro and the Austin Transit Partnership. Only ATP is authorized to build light rail.
Meanwhile, ATP still needs to get the Record of Decision (read: money) from the Federal Transit Administration. So: chill.
Newly released study shows that separated bike lanes reduce maximum car speeds by 28%, average speeds for turning cars by 21%, and 8% for cars going straight.
If cities want to reduce speeding, they should install separated/protected bike lanes—it’ll also get more people biking!

@juliogatx This is a little out of context. Can you also show:
1) capital investment budget/year?
2) ridership/year?
CapMetro has made recent investments in Rail (stations/sidings), Rapid (stations/all-electric) & Pickup (routes) since COVID, which skews this data.

It's a lot easier to rip out bus "infrastructure" than it is to take out train tracks, which is why the smarter anti-transit people concern-troll your rail projects and claim they just want rapid buses and aren't against transit in general of course.
@schizacyrium i'll also add that most anti cycling folks somehow think that cycling is worthless if you can't do it 100% of the time.
if i take even 50% or 25% of my single car trips off the road, that's a huge W.
A great day to be in Austin— and just in time for tonight’s @AustinFC match. ⚪️🟢
McKalla Station was made possible through the partnership of @CapMetroATX, @ATP_org and Austinites investment in Project Connect.
@elneurozorro@BrandonTucker@KUTnathan@VisionZeroATX@Movability@BikeATX@safestreetsatx IF a two-way cycle-track will fit, it’s worth exploring.

IF NOT: Nueces / San Antonio could work & still offer access to businesses on Guadalupe.

REMEMBER:
Not every road must be a highway.
Not every road must be a tramway.
Not every road must be a bikeway.
