It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Cheu Mita. Cheu died on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was a valued member of Awome and used her vast journalism experience to mentor many journalists in Malawi. She will be fondly missed. May her soul rest in peace

Lilongwe, Women in Malawi media are now on the streets, the key message is that it's now time for authorities to play their role in stopping rising cases of sexual abuse of women and girls.
Female journalists in Blantyre & Lilongwe have taken to the streats to demonstrate against increased cases of sexual violence & other forms of Gender-based violence in the country.
