On July 23, 2025, Ambassador @HassanSoroosh participated in a conference on Afghanistan in Parliament organized by the Afghanistan Young Leaders Organization @AYLO_AF in collaboration with the NATO Association of Canada @NATOCanada and the Office of Hon. MP @AliEhsassi .
Ambassador Soroosh spoke about the ongoing, multifaceted crisis under Taliban rule, emphasizing the urgent need for a revitalized and coordinated international response. He underscored the critical importance of sustained, collective efforts in support of an inclusive, representative, and peaceful future for Afghanistan. In this context, he highlighted the significance of a structured space that reflects the collective voice of Afghan political and civic forces.
Ambassador Soroosh expressed his gratitude to Canada and other like-minded nations for their steadfast commitment and ongoing engagement in support of the people of Afghanistan, particularly women and girls.
The Embassy also hosted a dinner in honor of the organizers and participants of the event, providing an opportunity to express appreciation for their efforts and to foster further dialogue and collaboration on issues related to Afghanistan.

سفیر آلمان در کانادا در نشستی در اتاوا در پاسخ به انتقادها از اقدامات و مواضع کشورش در قبال طالبان، تصریح کرد که برلین اداره طالبان را به رسمیت نمی‌شناسد.

متیاس لوتنبرگ در پاسخ به پذیرش دیپلومات‌های طالبان از سوی کشورش، گفت برلین طالبان را به‌عنوان حکومت مشروع افغانستان نمی‌داند و داد و ستد با این گروه، به معنای شناسایی آن نیست.

در این نشست که روز چهارشنبه تحت عنوان گفت‌وگوهای کابل-ناتو در پارلمان کانادا برگزار شد، اعجاز ملک‌زاده، فعال مدنی، از پذیرش دیپلومات‌های طالبان در آلمان انتقاد کرد.

اعجاز ملک‌زاده، فعال مدنی، در نشستی در پارلمان کانادا از پذیرش دیپلومات‌های طالبان از سوی آلمان انتقاد کرد.

آقای ملک‌زاده در این نشست که متیاس لوتنبرگ، سفیر آلمان در کانادا نیز حضور داشت، با اشاره به رویکرد متفاوت دولت آلمان در قبال تهاجم روسیه به اوکراین و بحران افغانستان تحت کنترول طالبان، مواضع برلین را «ریاکارانه» خواند.

این فعال مدنی افغان، با «تروریست» خواندن طالبان، گفت که این گروه ارزش‌های حقوق بشری را که آلمان به آن‌ها متعهد بوده، نقض کرده است.

سفیر آلمان در پاسخ به این انتقادها گفت که برلین طالبان را به‌عنوان حکومت مشروع افغانستان نمی‌داند و داد و ستد با این گروه، به معنای شناسایی آن نیست.

The Afghanistan Young Leaders Organization successfully hosted the inaugural Kabul- NATO Dialogue at the Parliament of Canada. This significant event brought together representatives from 11 NATO member countries alongside Canadian parliamentarians, fostering an important exchange of ideas and perspectives on Afghanistan's future.

Special thanks to Mr. Ali Ehssasi, MP of Canada, for his dedication. Together, we focused on empowering a new generation of Afghan leaders who cherish democracy and human rights.

I am deeply grateful for the support we received during our Kabul-NATO Dialogue in Canada. A heartfelt thank you to the ambassadors of the UK, Australia, Italy, Germany, Denmark, and Albania, your commitment to Afghanistan’s future is invaluable.

.@EjazMalikzada responded to @GerAmbCanada’s remarks about Germany’s principled approach to the crisis in Ukraine. Germany’s decision to accept Taliban’s representatives in Cologne & Berlin is hypocritical. Germany says that they are “standing with the people of Ukraine against Russian aggression & human rights violations”, but they also open diplomatic relations with a terrorist gender apartheid regime. The German Ambassador responded that he was not aware of his country’s decision to open up to Taliban terrorists.

The even Kabul-NATO dialogue was held in Canadian parliament in Ottawa under auspices of @AYLO_AF & Honourable MP @AliEhsassi.

The Afghanistan Young Leaders Organization and the NATO Association of Canada are proud to host the first in an annual series: the Kabul-NATO Dialogue.

Taking place at the Parliament of Canada on July 23, 2025, this historic summit will bring together parliamentarians, civil society leaders, and young changemakers from Afghanistan to address the ongoing crisis and explore collaborative solutions.

The conference will feature expert-led panels on key themes, including democracy and gender apartheid, pathways to stability in a post-Taliban landscape, and the role of political movements in shaping a democratic future.
