The American worker has been told, for fifty years, that his enemy is:
The immigrant taking his job.
The welfare recipient taking his taxes.
The foreign country taking his factory.
The liberal elite taking his culture.
The woke movement taking his children.
He has not been told that in 1978 the average CEO made 30 times the average worker's salary.
That today that number is 350 times.
That this did not happen by accident.
That it happened through specific policy decisions made by specific people with specific interests, enacted through a political system that those people fund.
He has not been told that because the people who decide what he's told are the people who benefited from those decisions.
The enemy was always upward.
The propaganda has always pointed sideways.
I think at some gut level in the not so distant past, many of us had an inkling of a feeling like "hmm they said they would do it, I wanted them to do it, and yet it didn't get done anyway" rinse, wash, repeat over decades of election cycles.
The problem with electoralists is they have amnesia and forget that their opinion has precisely nothing to do with outcomes, no matter how well they understand ledgers.

You can spend your whole life inside the U.S. narrative and never encounter a single real question.
You will be asked if you support the troops.
Never if you support the wars.
You will be asked if you stand with Israel.
Never if you stand with international law.
You will be asked if you feel safe.
Never if others deserve to.
That is how you manufacture consent.
You do not ban questions.
You just never ask the right ones.
What makes Trump dangerous isn't his originality - it's his acceleration. He's not doing anything radically different from other capitalists. He's just doing it publicly.

Trump set a UFC fight on the White House lawn shortly after buying stock in UFC. Naked corruption - it's a billionaire using office to enrich himself and his class. That's capitalism.
