Yesterday, Galaxy Backbone (GBB) participated in a panel session at the IT Gov Conference, where our Group Head, Research, Digital Innovation & Skills, Akintayo Bamisaye, represented the MD/CEO and shared GBB’s perspective on accelerating digital transformation in government.

The discussion focused on the need for interoperable government systems, building institutional capacity, strengthening human capital, fostering public-private sector collaboration, and accelerating Nigeria’s digital exchange.

Highlighting GBB’s contributions, Akintayo spoke about the success of GovMail, which now supports over 130,000 government users, demonstrating the impact of shared digital infrastructure in enabling efficient and secure government communication.

As the Federal Government’s Digital Infrastructure and Shared Services Provider, Galaxy Backbone remains committed to driving digital transformation through innovative platforms, strategic partnerships, and solutions that enable a smarter, more connected public sector.

The Sultanate received reports of Ramadan crescent sightings from three different locations within Nigeria, and these claims were confirmed by the authorities in the respective areas where the sightings were reported. His Eminence is currently abroad, and an official announcement will soon be made by the Shehu of Borno, who is the deputy president general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

Earlier today, we hosted members of the National Assembly Joint Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity for an oversight visit to the National Shared Services Centre (NSSC), reinforcing the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and cybersecurity framework.

Led by the Chairman, House Committee on Digital and Information Technology, Hon. Stanley Olajide Adedeji, the delegation engaged GBB Management in productive discussions on the organisation’s mandate, performance milestones, and strategic direction in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

Hon. Adedeji described Galaxy Backbone as a strategic national asset, emphasizing the need for sustained legislative support and increased investment in government ICT institutions to drive economic growth, security, and global competitiveness.

Welcoming the delegation, the Managing Director/CEO, Prof. Ibrahim A. Adeyanju, reaffirmed GBB’s commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and scalable ICT infrastructure and shared services to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as the private sector nationwide.
