Similarly:
Critical medicines will go up by 12-15% from April 1st.
Insurance has gone up by 15-20% over the last year.
Electricity rose by 14% in the last 1 year.
If you ask the governments: why are people being crushed to bones with all these price rises?
The answer would be: well, the price rise is happening all across the world.
Investigate further. Why?
Because losses have been socialised for decades: Bad banks, poorly run government organisations, excessive bail outs.
When something is bailed out (Eg. Yes Bank or Vijay Mallya’s Debt), the common people pay. How? through inflation or higher taxes (which you are seeing).
Now you might say: inflation is LOW in India right now. So why are prices high?
Well because: Inflation is changes in the % change in price increase. When inflation goes does, the prices that have climbed do not necessarily go down.
So when we see figures like 3% or 4% inflation, it simply means that NOW prices have gone up by that rate.
Basically, there are 3 types of taxes.
(1) Direct: Example, personal income tax.
(2) Indirect: Example, GST
(3) Invisible: High taxes, and inflation.
Solution: forget about saving money. Own assets. Go neck-deep in learning about how to create wealth.
Taxes in real terms (direct, indirect or visible) would be played around. And, an illusion is created that 'inflation' is in control. But, the 'total price increase' is NOT.
India has a 70,000Km Railway network.
To bring it under Kavach, the total outlay required is close to 1Lakh crore.
Total expenses done so far have been around 450Cr.
Three things:
[1] Over-marketing is always bad. The way it was done for Kavach.
[2] Media should have highlighted such facts earlier (but, unfortunately, most media has been sold out).
[3] Calling for the resignation of the Railway Minister solves nothing. Like it or not, he is one of the most qualified person to run the show.
Larger problem is: there is only a handful of people left, who can even raise questions.
Without even raising any questions, how can you even find solutions?
But, unfortunately, we live in times, when anyone even tries to highlight a problem: policy, economics, any problem--- the entire sold out media comes after them.
And, massive trolling starts (even on Twitter).
In all this non-sense, common people pay the price.
Please stop worshiping Politicians. Senseless defence/attacks on them won't get you a party ticket!
Worry about things like independent judiciary, independent media and government overreach.
All these things have a direct impact on YOUR life!
[This tweet changes nothing, but let me try]
ORR.
What kind of drainage cleaning was done? The kind where you scoop it out, and keep it at the side of the road. And which then goes into the drains again.
How many crores were “spent”?
