🚨Finally out in Psychophysiology @TheRealSPR (open access): My first first-author paper, based on my master thesis!😊
What resting state EEG characteristics can predict individual differences in cognitive control?

📣It’s officially fully out: my first first author paper!🤠
Social interactions and active activities are key to feeling good, but how do these activities improve wellbeing? Through positive emotions!

Measuring affective polarization is straightforward in a two-party system. But imagine doing this in a system with 8, 10, or even 19 parties (yes, they exist!).
We discuss how one can most effectively capture AP in such a context: https://t.co/7bjPMnsHCW

Since decades, scientist are debating the nature and structure of uncertainty. We are currently working on a project to improve our understanding of what people perceive when faced with uncertainty, and how they react to different types of it. Hopefully more to share soon!
Taking on the long journey from @ETH, Alina Gerlach and Elaine Strittmatter visited us @CBDR_lab, @moliviafischer, @renatofrey_sci to talk about how people perceive and react to uncertainty. Very interesting discussions!
You can check out their work here: https://t.co/NUvk9WIrUF
They ask how we can assess the degree of polarization, testing the convergent validity of eight different operationalizations. Moderate agreement between the measures suggests that using different operationalizations leads to different conclusions about how polarized society is.
Finally taking the time to promote an amazing preprint lead by @moliviafischer together with @renatofrey_sci on "The many operationalizations of polarization": https://t.co/V99p6rn0Fj 🥳👩🔬
Are the risks behavioral scientists typically investigate the same risks that people face in their lives? @moliviafischer talked about the similarities and differences in three perspectives on risky choices at @SRAEurope.
More to come! @CBDR_lab
Which factors predict real-life risky choices and how can we investigate these? @AaronBLob presented his research on using think-aloud protocols and ecological momentary assessment to address these questions at @SRAEurope. @CBDR_lab
Very happy about my first co-authored paper, now published in @PsychScience journal🎉: Together with M Conci, R Rozek and H Müller, we aimed to dissociate learning-induced effects of meaning and familiarity on visual WM. Accessible open source at: https://t.co/6ur4kVnWTR
What are risks that people face in life, and how can knowledge about them inform research? @renatofrey_sci presented this exciting ongoing project about the ecology of risk at #spudm2023 last week. Stay tuned for updates!
Shoutout to @AaronBLob for giving a fascinating talk about situational variability in everyday risk taking at this year's MathPsych #iccmpsyched@socmathpsych. Overjoyed to be part of the same team @UZH_ch@CBDR_lab!
@DemidenkoMI@Carly_Lasagna @tieebalu @Seb_Olschewski@Carly_Lasagna mentioned the recordings: Ericsson and Simon called them „think-aloud“ protocols which - ideally - do not modify the thought process when collect properly. One important step we are working on is to test whether this can be done.
What is polarization and how can we measure it? On Thursday, I attended an amazing talk by @moliviafischer on the issue of measuring polarization, especially in people’s perceptions of risk at #iccmpsyched. Great presentation and very interesting work!
@AaronBLob gave a brilliant talk yesterday at our session on Risk-Taking at #iccmpsyched looking at situational uncertainty and risk-taking in everyday life
My first conference talk “Mathematical modeling of risk-taking in bipolar disorder” is officially in the books ✅ thanks to the awesome folks at MathPsych 2023 for your thoughtful questions and feedback. I had a blast! #iccmpsyched
