Very happy about my first co-authored paper, now published in @PsychScience journal🎉: Together with M Conci, R Rozek and H Müller, we aimed to dissociate learning-induced effects of meaning and familiarity on visual WM. Accessible open source at: https://t.co/6ur4kVnWTR
4/4 Our findings challenge existing frameworks suggesting that an individual’s ability to spontaneously engage attentional control networks may be mirrored in resting state EEG characteristics.
🚨Finally out in Psychophysiology @TheRealSPR (open access): My first first-author paper, based on my master thesis!😊
What resting state EEG characteristics can predict individual differences in cognitive control?

3/4 Similarly, we found evidence against links between cognitive control and resting state power in the alpha and theta bands, or between cognitive control and the offset of aperiodic 1/f broadband activity.
The widely cited study by Lichtenstein et al. (1978) concluded that people overestimate the frequency of dramatic causes of death (e.g., Tornado). A new article in @CognitionJourn finds that these results do not replicate (Open Access):

Measuring affective polarization is straightforward in a two-party system. But imagine doing this in a system with 8, 10, or even 19 parties (yes, they exist!).
We discuss how one can most effectively capture AP in such a context: https://t.co/7bjPMnsHCW

Tomorrow: Online seminar by Nuno Busch @nunobusch on "Dissociating learning-induced effects of meaning and familiarity in visual working memory for Chinese characters", hosted by AFC Lab Talk Series | #bot⚡ https://t.co/gREAphdPHq
