Hitters and pitchers on the same team, share information. My greatest learning sessions was during BP shagging in RF with our bullpen guys. No agenda, just talking the game. Some days strategy, some days angles, they learned my mindset and I learned theirs. Cont.—->
🚨Hitter Spotlight🚨
Today’s hitter spotlight is 2024 Catcher Gilbert Acosta from @kermanbaseball. Gilbert hit .278 with a home run and 14 RBI as a freshman on varsity for Kerman last year, and is prepped to be a force in the middle of their order this year.
Max EV - 100.3 mph
These are the things that would drive me nuts. Leave one night and all is well. Come back the next day there’s a hole in the wall, a net that looks like it came off a tuna boat, and 4 broken tees…
A lot of kids think once they’ve done something good, they’re done. They’ve accomplished that and want to move on. They’re missing the point.
The point is to be consistently great. Not one time great.
The rumor is that Pacino and Bobby D never saw each other on set, they used stand ins for this scene.
I’ve watched that movie 100 times, I’m not convinced that’s not true.
@Edmondson_F1@benjamiller Isn’t that what’s great about F1? It’s not unfair or cheating or a conspiracy, its taking educated risks and living with those decisions. Sometimes they are wrong, most times those two teams are right.
That’s what draws morons like me to the sport. Let’s not drive us away
@Edmondson_F1@benjamiller Last scenario to consider: let’s say Mercedes pitted and LH had fresh tires vs Max, and the same “Masi mishap” occurs with MVS 1 and LH 2. Who wins?
Man, hard to bet against Lewis with freshies, right? But without those…he never had a shot, mate.
The @LewisHamilton Master Class on how to be the best in every way. A champion who wins most days & shows the world how to behave & stay composed when situations aren't kind to you. LH brings his A-game even when his soul is ripped out. Strength. Control of spirit. Role model
@Edmondson_F1@benjamiller Appreciate the dialogue BTW. Always happy to listen and see different vantage points. But to me this one is just poor planning and not taking the risk. Ask LH if he wanted the shot to catch Max with a 3 sec deficit and I bet he would say yes all day.
@Edmondson_F1@benjamiller Teams prepare for 100 scenarios. It certainly appears Mercedes forgot about a safety car with old tires as being one to prepare for. RBR was ready and made the change. Why didn’t Mercedes? That should be the question asked
Mercedes had ample laps to pit and but LH in a stronger spot to defend against this scenario. They took the risk by not getting fresh tires on. RBR took advantage of that.
Strategy advantage to RBR as I said yesterday.
@mev202 The Race Director realised the RUS car had been cleared in time to resume racing. When he realised that would allow one lap, & that the lapped cars could be released, he permitted it. His call to make. That Max was on new softs & Lewis on old hards was down to the teams. 🤷♂️
