@faraz_r_khan If you can avoid building the hardware sure. But if the hardware is an unlock for a software win, you get a moat of "common advice" your competitors are getting :)
@faraz_r_khan Maybe this is true if you're building trivial hardware (i.e. dumb but profitable iot devices). In general v1s need to be done quick turn and domestic wins. V2s are great to outsource cost downs and better dfm practices.
This is a wonderful thing to see.
We need to immediately start scaling these kind of technologies to mass market vehicles, which will require at scale hd maps, order of magnitude reduction in sensor costs and use of more sensor modalities than "just camera or just lidar".
@SafeSelfDrive Even as a cyclist, the cargo bike scratches a different itch. It's not that you need a different company, it's that you need the ecosystem to make it work. If someone steals you 8k cargo bike at the Safeway, you're currently SOL.
@reillybrennan@johnvoelcker@CalEnergy@EVAdoptionTweet Tesla knows how hard it is to make mechanical bits and bobs (including touchscreens) reliable by experience. Minimal systems are how you build reliable infra at scale.
