You are both lying. I was a consultant to that commission. They did not demand a kind of ID that resulted of in a poll tax. They did not require voters to re-register in person with proof of citizenship, much less ask married women who changed their names to jump through hoops.
You were 53x less likely to die from Covid being vaccinated and boosted than unvaccinated..
There’s data to support that, globally..
MAGA and anit-vaxxers say that’s not true..
The only difference between these two claims, is only one has evidence and hundreds of peer reviewed studies to prove their claim. The other side drinks raw milk, and takes horse de-wormer.
President John F. Kennedy and US Attorney General Bobby Kennedy forced the American Zionist Counsel to register as a foreign agent, blocking them from donating to US officials.
JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963.
RFK was assassinated on June 5, 1968.
AIPAC replaced the American Zionist Counsel without any opposition.
Letter signed by Donald Rumsfeld.
No textbooks will teach your children this part of history.
I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on - if your position is that the president of the United States and his family should be immune from IRS scrutiny, you’re unqualified to be the Attorney General.
It’s an indictment on our entire system that 50 GOP Senators don’t agree.
In a decent society and government, this statement by itself would be enough to push this senator out of office and public life. But we are not a decent society right now. We are not a decent government right now. This is racist, ignorant, and vile. We are what we tolerate.
Thom Hartmann explains it best when he says people are not voting for communism or perhaps even socialism. They are voting for a system/economy that benefitted everyone before Reagan came into office.
They are voting for the same healthcare benefits that the rest of the modern world already enjoys.
They are voting for an education system that benefits young people. No more 70 year old schools that districts lack the funds to maintain.
A college system that allows people to get educated without debt while removing the current 2 trillion in student loan debt now.
An environment we can all breathe, an immigration system that reflects our amazing diversity, a tax system that makes the morbidly rich pay their fair share, which I believe would be the late 50’s and early 60’s personal and corporate tax rates.
He goes on to say that we want a government that respects international law and creates and economy where every one can access what we could in 1981. The ability to buy a home, car, and take a nice vacation, put their kids through college, and retire with a nice pension.
Many countries have all of this and they fought hard to get those things. The wealthy in this country work hard to see we cannot have those things.
“If a monkey hoarded more bananas than it could eat while most of the other monkeys starved, scientists would study that monkey to figure out what was wrong with it. When humans do it, we put them on the cover of Forbes.”
Thom is right in his assessment, many younger Americans weren’t around when citizens enjoyed a really good quality of life. Since Lewis Powell wrote that corporations need to take control over the government back in 1971, the morbidly rich have moved to deny Americans the quality of life their parents had and it’s been getting worse by the decade. Billionaires spend billions to ensure they elect people who will keep making it worse. The youth today, have no concept of a future as things stand right now.
DSA wants to bring the quality of life back to America. They support all of these things including increasing union memberships so people can fight for living wage. The word Socialism is not a word to fear. If the word scares you , just think of it as a time before Reagan when Americans lived well.
Language is everything and billionaires create negative impressions for all things that reduce their power and increase their taxes. This is our best shot at taking them head on. If a few Muslim Americans lead the way so be it. Our diversity is in fact our greatest strength. Many more will come from all across our beautiful spectrum of people. It’s time to embrace the opportunity and create a new Democratic establishment. One for the people.
JOE KENT: “The whole myth that Iran is full of like crazy suicide bombers & crazy jihadis, Is a LIE. The Shias don’t use suicide bombers. The Shias have never come over to America to K!LL Americans.. It's the Salafi jihadis, the ISIS, the Al Qaeda, those are the suicide bombers.”
BREAKING: OMG! Trump's cronies just got busted setting up FAKE NEWSPAPERS in order to push their lies and misinformation!
While Donald Trump and his flunkies almost reflexively scream “fake news” at every piece of real reporting they don’t like, one of the Republican Party’s most powerful dark money groups has been busy creating ACTUAL fake news sites of its own.
One Nation – the Senate Republicans’ largest dark money organization – has quietly built at least six state-based websites that look like independent local news outlets.
The sites pose as independent local news organizations, and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting their bogus stories directly into voters' Facebook and Instagram feeds, according to a new investigation by Popular Information.
In reality, these sites function as campaign vehicles for MAGA Senate candidates, pumping out glowing coverage and promoting it through Facebook and Instagram ads.
One of them, The Alaska Navigator, bills itself as “independent news covering the Last Frontier.” It isn’t.
It published stories such as “As Fentanyl Deaths Rise in Alaska, Sullivan Pushes Tougher Penalties and Enforcement,” crediting Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan with leading the fight – even though he neither wrote nor originally sponsored the legislation in question.
Similar sites have popped up in Maine, Ohio, Iowa, Georgia, and New Hampshire, each carefully named and branded to resemble hometown journalism.
The report says One Nation spent roughly $200,000 to $275,000 promoting the sites through Meta ads. The ads disclosed they were paid for by One Nation, but only disclose that the sites themselves are also owned and operated by One Nation in a tiny font at the bottom of the page.
The most brazen detail may be that the Alaska Navigator’s domain wasn’t even registered until March 2026, yet it already displayed articles dating back to January!
The source code shows those earlier stories were generated with a WordPress plugin called – wait for it – FakerPress, software designed to create placeholder content so a website looks older and more established than it actually is.
Some of the sites went further and simply stole articles from real newsrooms. One Georgia site allegedly copied the full text of an 11Alive story and presented it as its own.
Since One Nation is a nonprofit, it doesn’t have to disclose its donors, so the public has no way of knowing who is funding this operation. The group did not respond to requests for comment.
Under Trump, Republicans have built an entire political brand around denouncing “fake news.” Now we learn one of their most influential dark money groups has been manufacturing websites that look like independent local journalism while quietly feeding campaign messaging to voters who have no idea who’s really behind the headlines.
Trump calls legitimate reporting “fake news.” His minions are out here building the real thing.
If a Republican dark money group creating fake local news sites while the party screams about “fake news” has you furious, like and share.
The hypocrisy is off the friggin' charts here. Like and share if you agree.
The US war on Iran is presumably the most stupid war in US history:
1. Trump started it for no good reason, whether to detract from the Epstein files or because he was carried away by Netanyahu. It was a lose-lose war & remains so.
2. Apart from wishful thinking that the Iranian regime would collapse, Trump had no strategy. When the regime did not collapse, Trump had lost.
3. The US has effectively given Iran control of the Strait of Hormus.
4. The US has facilitated Iran's acquisition of nuclear arms out of sheer stupidity.
5. With incredible thoughtlessness, the US has wasted on minor targets its most expensive & important missiles, Tomahawks and Patriots, which cannot be replaced for years.
6. Through its attack on Iran, then US has exposed its Gulf allies & its own bases in the region with little defense.
7. Through his outrageous & unjustified attacks on European allies, Trump has weakened whatever remains of the Western alliance.
Is there any greater enemy of the Western alliance than Trump?
I came to understand after leaving MAGA that the coordinated, multi-decade demonization, dehumanization and vilification of Democrats, liberals, etc., fuel a lot of the addiction to rage and fear within MAGA. I am not defending anyone’s ignorance, but the anti-Democratic propaganda and agitprop have long been effective, consistent and disciplined. This is why I am empathetic toward many in MAGA; we are all susceptible to being influenced.
.@JamesTalarico: The young people here might not remember this, but those of you who are a little older might. Not so long ago, you could afford to live a good life here in America.
You could buy a home in your 20s. You could go to college for cheap or free. You could support a whole family on one paycheck. You could afford to get married, have kids, and retire comfortably. You could fulfill your God-given potential.
We called it the American Dream.
In the middle of the 20th century, we invested in healthcare and education. We built homes and highways. We protected workers' rights and paychecks. We blocked consolidation and encouraged competition. We built the largest, strongest middle class in the history of the world.
But today that middle class has disappeared. For too many of our neighbors, the American Dream has become an American Nightmare.
We can't afford a home, but Jeff Bezos has at least a dozen. We can't afford to fill up our tank, but Mark Zuckerberg is launching helicopters from his mega-yacht. One in five Texas children live in poverty — but one of our residents became the world's first trillionaire.
The top 1% put the American Dream behind a paywall.
.@JamesTalarico: 50 years ago, a corporate lawyer named Lewis Powell circulated a memo around DC — a blueprint for how corporations could amass political power, reverse the gains of the Great Society and the New Deal, and rig the system for themselves.
The Powell memo outlined a strategy. Unite corporate special interests, privilege corporate perspectives in the media, appoint sympathetic judges to the court, and buy politicians in both political parties.
And it worked. Republicans and some Democrats sold the false gospel of trickle-down economics. Trickle-down economics is not a theory, it is theft.
Since the late 1970s, mega donors and corporate special interests have been buying politicians in both political parties. And then those politicians turned around and rigged the economy to benefit their wealthy donors at our expense.
We have an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis.
NEW/EXCLUSIVE: Deutsche Bank failed to promptly report to US authorities more than $250M in suspicious transactions tied to Jeffrey Epstein, including funds used to pay women in Russia & other Eastern European countries, according to a new report from @RonWyden

This is why this is not just about Max Miller. It’s about “devout Christian” House Republican leadership who is standing with this guy because they crave power above all else. It’s the culture of MAGA and it comes straight from Trump. Vote them out.
Your government is broken. You can't impeach him because he owns all three branches of government. We literally warned everyone about this shit. It will take decades to recover from Trump and MAGA.
We disgrace ourselves as a nation each and every day Donald Trump remains in office. The drafters of the United States Constitution provided a remedy for a criminally insane president like the one we have—impeachment and removal—but our current Congress, as an institution, is too corrupt and cowardly to fulfill its constitutional duty to exercise this power and duty. And that, sadly, is where we are today.
Remember when the Panama Papers came out, revealed that all rich people in the world are part of enormous criminal network to dodge taxes and hoard stolen wealth in offshore accounts, and the journalist who reported was murdered by a car bomb, and no one was held accountable, and literally nothing happened.
This is what will happen with the Epstein Files if we don't unite against child rapists.
For four years the story was that a bank closed Trump's accounts because it hated him politically after January 6. Capital One just told a federal judge, in a sworn motion, what actually happened. More than three hundred Trump affiliated accounts were closed in 2021 after months of analysis by the bank's anti money laundering team, flagging transaction patterns that matched federal banking guidance for this kind of review.
This is the first time any bank has formally tied money laundering concerns to Trump's business in a court filing. Banks do not make that claim lightly, since it creates its own legal exposure if it is not documented. Capital One says it never accused the Trump Organization of actual illegal laundering, and never publicized any of this at the time because federal banking secrecy law barred it from doing so.
A federal judge already tossed two earlier versions of this lawsuit. Capital One is now asking for a permanent dismissal. A nearly identical suit against JPMorgan over Trump's personal accounts is still working through the same argument.
Wild how the Epstein files led to absolutely nothing. A massive, state-connected child trafficking ring turned into a few weeks of political theater until people's eagerness to do something evaporated. A consequence of US politics revolving around two parties who are complicit.
