Thom Hartmann explains it best when he says people are not voting for communism or perhaps even socialism. They are voting for a system/economy that benefitted everyone before Reagan came into office.

They are voting for the same healthcare benefits that the rest of the modern world already enjoys.

He goes on to say that we want a government that respects international law and creates and economy where every one can access what we could in 1981. The ability to buy a home, car, and take a nice vacation, put their kids through college, and retire with a nice pension.

Many countries have all of this and they fought hard to get those things. The wealthy in this country work hard to see we cannot have those things.

Thom is right in his assessment, many younger Americans weren’t around when citizens enjoyed a really good quality of life. Since Lewis Powell wrote that corporations need to take control over the government back in 1971, the morbidly rich have moved to deny Americans the quality of life their parents had and it’s been getting worse by the decade. Billionaires spend billions to ensure they elect people who will keep making it worse. The youth today, have no concept of a future as things stand right now.

DSA wants to bring the quality of life back to America. They support all of these things including increasing union memberships so people can fight for living wage. The word Socialism is not a word to fear. If the word scares you , just think of it as a time before Reagan when Americans lived well.

Language is everything and billionaires create negative impressions for all things that reduce their power and increase their taxes. This is our best shot at taking them head on. If a few Muslim Americans lead the way so be it. Our diversity is in fact our greatest strength. Many more will come from all across our beautiful spectrum of people. It’s time to embrace the opportunity and create a new Democratic establishment. One for the people.

BREAKING: OMG! Trump's cronies just got busted setting up FAKE NEWSPAPERS in order to push their lies and misinformation!

While Donald Trump and his flunkies almost reflexively scream “fake news” at every piece of real reporting they don’t like, one of the Republican Party’s most powerful dark money groups has been busy creating ACTUAL fake news sites of its own.

One Nation – the Senate Republicans’ largest dark money organization – has quietly built at least six state-based websites that look like independent local news outlets.

The sites pose as independent local news organizations, and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting their bogus stories directly into voters' Facebook and Instagram feeds, according to a new investigation by Popular Information.

In reality, these sites function as campaign vehicles for MAGA Senate candidates, pumping out glowing coverage and promoting it through Facebook and Instagram ads.

One of them, The Alaska Navigator, bills itself as “independent news covering the Last Frontier.” It isn’t.
It published stories such as “As Fentanyl Deaths Rise in Alaska, Sullivan Pushes Tougher Penalties and Enforcement,” crediting Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan with leading the fight – even though he neither wrote nor originally sponsored the legislation in question.

Similar sites have popped up in Maine, Ohio, Iowa, Georgia, and New Hampshire, each carefully named and branded to resemble hometown journalism.

The report says One Nation spent roughly $200,000 to $275,000 promoting the sites through Meta ads. The ads disclosed they were paid for by One Nation, but only disclose that the sites themselves are also owned and operated by One Nation in a tiny font at the bottom of the page.

The most brazen detail may be that the Alaska Navigator’s domain wasn’t even registered until March 2026, yet it already displayed articles dating back to January!

The source code shows those earlier stories were generated with a WordPress plugin called – wait for it – FakerPress, software designed to create placeholder content so a website looks older and more established than it actually is.

Some of the sites went further and simply stole articles from real newsrooms. One Georgia site allegedly copied the full text of an 11Alive story and presented it as its own.

Since One Nation is a nonprofit, it doesn’t have to disclose its donors, so the public has no way of knowing who is funding this operation. The group did not respond to requests for comment.

Under Trump, Republicans have built an entire political brand around denouncing “fake news.” Now we learn one of their most influential dark money groups has been manufacturing websites that look like independent local journalism while quietly feeding campaign messaging to voters who have no idea who’s really behind the headlines.

Trump calls legitimate reporting “fake news.” His minions are out here building the real thing.

If a Republican dark money group creating fake local news sites while the party screams about “fake news” has you furious, like and share.

5. With incredible thoughtlessness, the US has wasted on minor targets its most expensive & important missiles, Tomahawks and Patriots, which cannot be replaced for years.
6. Through its attack on Iran, then US has exposed its Gulf allies & its own bases in the region with little defense.
7. Through his outrageous & unjustified attacks on European allies, Trump has weakened whatever remains of the Western alliance.

For four years the story was that a bank closed Trump's accounts because it hated him politically after January 6. Capital One just told a federal judge, in a sworn motion, what actually happened. More than three hundred Trump affiliated accounts were closed in 2021 after months of analysis by the bank's anti money laundering team, flagging transaction patterns that matched federal banking guidance for this kind of review.

This is the first time any bank has formally tied money laundering concerns to Trump's business in a court filing. Banks do not make that claim lightly, since it creates its own legal exposure if it is not documented. Capital One says it never accused the Trump Organization of actual illegal laundering, and never publicized any of this at the time because federal banking secrecy law barred it from doing so.

A federal judge already tossed two earlier versions of this lawsuit. Capital One is now asking for a permanent dismissal. A nearly identical suit against JPMorgan over Trump's personal accounts is still working through the same argument.
