Had the absolute honour of working on this important piece of research on the progress made to support #migrant, #refugee & #asylumseekers women & girls! And the impact of #Covid19 more needs to be done to make #Wales a safer place & a #nationofsanctuary for this vulnerable group
🔎New report: ‘Uncharted Territory Review’ – findings show progress made since the first @wsmp report in 2013, and more to do to support migrant, refugee and asylum seeking women and girls experiencing violence in Wales

Wet evening but warm one with the community coming together for an Iftar at Cardiff Castle organised by @AmanahCymru.
Loved Ramadan Moon - a play by local children.
Huw as council leader spoke in Welsh & English of the castle- a building built for war but now welcoming all in
An absolutely fantastic evening, despite the weather. Delighted that Cardiff Council was able to sponsor this interfaith community iftar, and huge congratulations to @AmanahCymru and the other organisers for pulling everything together so beautifully.
The month of #Ramadan is approaching and I have created an updated infographic for you to share with students & colleagues!

Delighted to be working in partnership with @JamiAbramson & @Aassami31@Eystwales & delighted to see publication of their much needed research on the impact of school exclusions upon ethnic minority children. See on link below👇👇
Working on this research report alongside @Aassami31@eystwales in the past year, to uncover the impact of school exclusions upon ethnic minority young people and their families has been truly eye opening 😓
In our recent letter to the @SeneddChildren by @eystwales we highlighted our concerns of the impact of racial bullying in schools across #Wales We welcome the response from the @WG_Education and we look forward to working with you and our partners to tackle these serious issues.
If you didn't get your desired results today, don't give up.
I went from stocking shelves in a corner shop as a refugee to becoming an NHS doctor.
I failed. Failed. And failed again before I achieved my dream.
It's in failing that we learn how to overcome & how to be better.
✉️We have written to the @WG_Education following concerns raised by @eystwales about levels and impact of racist bullying in schools across Wales.

Very much appreciate the @bbcnews and @BBCYaldaHakim highlighting the plight of #Yemen where it has often been called the forgotten conflict. Though there has been a significant deescalation, we're stuck in a state of political/military deadlock and a limbo of no war yet no peace either. All the while the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen.
Over 80% of the population needs aid, and of those 22 million desperate souls, half are children, that's 11 million children of which close to 3 mil are out of school and 2 mil suffer from acute malnutrition. Yet less than 30% of the $4.3 bil UN's humanitarian response has been funded. Basic services such as clean water and electricity are a luxury, our hospitals are in shambles, and with the economy in tatters, people are in a constant struggle against mounting challenges to stay alive. But after more than 8 years of war, a combination of desensitization, finger-pointing, passing the buck, and apathy, has somehow normalized this insane catastrophic situation.
Don't want to be overly alarmist, but there's also the fact that the current status quo and polarization provides rich grounds for all sorts of radicalization and indoctrination. It's a ticking time bomb that many are simply not paying enough attention to let alone attempting to defuse as the socio-economic fabric and the country continues to be ripped apart with real and present risks of a spillover.
We need to act now before it's too late. #YemenCantWait
Brilliant day with the EYST family on our Staff Development Day on a beautiful day in #swansea. It is an honour to be part of such a passionate, caring and empowered staff and Trustee team 😊👍💪❤️
