@cabl57 I agree. This news article shows arguments made in Nassauer (2015). Both sources can be used together to analyze this protest as the policy initiatives are relevant from Hedican (2012) while Nassauer's (2015) idea of peaceful protests is relevant when policing protests #PLST4000
Extinction Rebellion trespassed on Indigenous lands during their climate change protest which was unacceptable. This calls for higher policing of protests and it relates to the idea of respecting territorial boundaries presented in Nassauer (2015)#PLST4000

@KettleJason The new laws put sex workers at risk. Armstrong (2017) says that street-based sex workers are more likely to experience violence than indoor sex workers. However, sex workers now have no time to screen their clients. Due to intensified policing, sex workers are at risk.#PLST4000
New sex work laws are dangerous. Not being able to pre-screen clients & quickly jumping into a car puts them at risk for violence. This shows Armstrong's (2017) idea that sex workers have to rush screening clients as they are targeted by police.#PLST4000

@MUNTab136 Cases like this need to be emphasized as there are huge issues in regards to drugs and gang activity. Coomber et al. (2017) can shed some light on symbolic policing activities that can affect these issues and society as a whole. Such 'projects' are not always beneficial #PLST4000
Calgary's hotspots & crime markets for drugs are expanding and police are taking different approaches to combat the issue. Similar to Coomber et al. (2017), symbolic approaches respond to the drug makers and reassure civilians safety concerns #PLST4000

@cabl57 This policing practice corresponds with a liberal security mindset that is analyzed in Kremer (2014) as it is a countermeasure to cybercrime. It is taking the individual and their rights instead of the state into account with regard to the consequences of cyber threats. #PLST4000
Only 1 in 10 Canadian business owners report computer hacks to police as they feel the police won't take it seriously. Society's view on security & cybercrime are important as it determines how much control the police have (Kremer, 2014, p. 237). #PLST4000

@nicolecasey29 I agree! Before this video, I was unaware of how diverse vitamins really are. I will also make sure that I recieve the proper amounts of vitamin E from now on. #HKR1000
@amandamgough1 I completely agree! It is crazy to think how much nutritional value is gone from our food before we can even purchase it! In addition, raw local vegetables would have a higher nutritional content and would be much better for our health. #HKR1000
@nataliechawkins I agree! It takes 5 days for food to reach stores to be sold, so we are loosing almost half of the nutritional value before we can even purchase it. #HKR1000
@emery_perrett I agree! We need to share our feelings more and open up about problems we may be having in order to deal with emotions properly. #HKR1000
@AbigailRPeyton I agree! Only 32.04% of my #HKR1000 class does yoga. Yoga helps improve flexibility, so it contributes to physical and spiritual wellness.
