I extend my sincere congratulations to H.E. Dr. @AbiyAhmedAli on his re-election as Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Somaliland and Ethiopia share longstanding ties rooted in geography, history and common interests. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Abiy to deepen our cooperation, promote peace and stability across the region, and expand opportunities for trade and development.
I wish Prime Minister Abiy every success in his renewed mandate, and the people of Ethiopia continued peace, prosperity and progress.
The Saudi regime has enlisted officers from the Sudanese army affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Al-Baraa bin Malik Brigade, alongside mercenaries from Ukraine and Romania, to train around 5,000 Somali recruits as part of an effort to establish Riyadh-aligned armed proxies intended for use against Somaliland.
The training camp was established in a remote area known as "Hananbuure" in the Galmudug region of central Somalia. On August 16, the Somalian president, accompanied by a high-ranking Saudi intelligence officer, attended the recruits’ graduation ceremony. According to Somalia’s Defence Minister, Ahmed Fiqi,Saudi Arabia financed the recruits’ training and armament, while their salaries will also be paid by Riyadh.
A new partnership is already saving lives. ❤️
The establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Somaliland is already showing results. The first delegation of children has returned home after receiving life-saving heart treatment from @SaveChildsHeart, healthier, stronger, and with brighter futures ahead.
May this partnership bring healing and hope to many more children.

A million-strong demonstration in Aden, with Southerners demanding the restoration of their independent state. In a thunderous, unified voice, the crowds echo their allegiance to the Southern Transitional Council.
Who can silence a voice this powerful, or stand against a cause this deeply rooted? What is rising from Aden today is not just a protest, but a resounding declaration of identity, will, and destiny spreading across the entire South.
I categorically reject the statement issued by the Federal Government of Somalia regarding Somaliland’s diplomatic engagement with the State of Israel. Somalia’s remarks are not only legally baseless they reveal a profound misunderstanding of the most elementary principles of international law.
Somaliland is a sovereign state. We attained independence on 26 June 1960 and were recognised internationally as a separate country. That sovereignty has never been extinguished, transferred, or legally superseded. It does not originate from Mogadishu, and it is not subject to Mogadishu’s approval.
Somalia’s attempt to portray Somaliland’s bilateral relations as a “violation” of its sovereignty collapses under even the most basic legal scrutiny. International law is not shaped by political wish‑thinking. It is grounded in verifiable legal instruments. Somalia has never produced a single binding, ratified, or internationally registered document proving any lawful claim over the Republic of Somaliland.
This absence is not a minor technicality. It is a decisive legal failure.
Somalia therefore has no standing whatsoever to interfere in, comment on, or attempt to restrict Somaliland’s diplomatic relations with any state. Our foreign engagements are an exercise of our sovereign rights, conducted fully in line with international norms and state practice.
Somalia’s repeated invocation of “territorial integrity” is not only misplaced it demonstrates a fundamental misapplication of the concept. Territorial integrity cannot be invoked retroactively, selectively, or without a lawful basis. It applies to existing states with proven territorial claims, not to aspirational claims unsupported by law.
For more than three decades, Somaliland has governed itself effectively within its internationally defined borders. We have built democratic institutions, held credible elections, ensured internal stability, and contributed meaningfully to regional and international security, including counter‑terrorism and maritime stability. These are the hallmarks of responsible statehood — not theoretical constructs, but lived realities.
Political statements that ignore legal standards do not alter the facts on the ground. They do not erase history, and they do not create sovereignty where none exists.
Our engagement with international partners, including the State of Israel, reflects Somaliland’s longstanding commitment to peaceful cooperation, regional stability, and lawful international conduct.
Somaliland’s sovereignty is not up for negotiation. It is a legal reality, a historical fact, and a political truth. Our foreign relations are determined solely by our sovereign will, and we will continue to act accordingly.

You do NOT speak for us.
The Republic of Somaliland is a sovereign, independent nation, not your “so-called” anything.
Your pathetic condemnation of Israel appointing an Ambassador to Hargeisa only proves how irrelevant and toothless you’ve become.
While you waste time attacking peaceful partnerships, real threats burn across the Muslim world, and you stay silent.
The Republic of Somaliland doesn’t need your permission to exist, trade, or choose its friends.
We stand tall, free, and sovereign.
I have called on #ElonMusk and X to address the issue of justice. Somalilanders should not be forced to identify as Somalia. They deserve acknowledgment as Somaliland, with equal access and participation, including digital inclusion.

A New World Order is Emerging, and it runs through the Red Sea!
The outbreak of the Iranian conflict on February 28, 2026, has pushed the international system into a far more volatile & unpredictable phase, dismantling the fragile status quo that once underpinned global stability.
What was widely expected to be a short-lived confrontation has instead evolved into a protracted crisis, one that is actively reshaping the Geopolitical Order.
Traditional alliances (most notably NATO) are showing signs of strain, as internal divisions and competing national interests weaken cohesion. In their place, more fluid and transactional alignments are emerging, driven not by ideology but by strategic necessity and self-interest.
At its core, this is not a war of ideological doctrine, but a contest for geostrategic advantage, economic influence, and control over critical maritime chokepoints. Power in this emerging order will belong to those who can secure the world’s key trade arteries, including the Persian Gulf (Strait of Hormuz), the Gulf of Berbera /Aden, the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab, Trade Straits in South-East Asia and elsewhere.
Within this shifting geopolitical landscape, the conflict has cast a clear spotlight on the strategic significance of the Republic of Somaliland. Positioned along one of the world’s most vital Maritime Corridors, the Republic of Somaliland is increasingly seen as a pivotal actor in safeguarding global trade flows and regional security.
In this new era, strategic relevance is defined less by formal recognition and more by geopolitical utility; and in that regard, Somaliland’s importance is becoming ever more clearer. Strategic location is power and Somaliland has it!
🚨 Turkey’s Foreign Minister is rattled over failing to gain access to Somaliland’s strategic coast, so he’s deliberately lying about international law.
Meanwhile, Israel is rightfully on the side of international law unlike Turkey.

The activist @JJJuraid criticized international silence on regional chaos and politicised extremism backed by different countries in the region.
Jassim made sure to shed light on Somaliland’s and its cooperation with the UAE that helps stabilize the Bab al-Mandab and the Horn of Africa.
Thanks @JJJuraid for speaking up to 6 million Somalilanders who are excluded from the international community and their contribution being overlooked by purpose.
Our women. Our leaders.
Somalian pirates and Houthi illegal weapons networks threaten the Gulf of Aden and global shipping lanes—
but the Republic of Somaliland stands unshaken.
Courage. Discipline. Sovereignty.
This is leadership.
This is the Republic of Somaliland. ⚓️
For over three decades, Somaliland has maintained peace, democratic governance, and de facto autonomy since reclaiming its independence in 1991. Yet it remains excluded from the global financial system due to lack of formal recognition. The Somaliland Economic Access and Opportunity Act is a constructive step toward correcting this imbalance. Expanding access to regulated financial channels would strengthen transparency and bolster economic stability. Washington should recognize that meaningful engagement with Somaliland—beginning with greater access to global financial systems—is both a strategic and practical investment in a reliable partner in the Horn of Africa.

🚨BREAKING: The Republic of Somaliland just dropped bombshell receipts on Ilhan Omar.
On March 19, 2026, the official @RepOfSomaliland account posted what they claim are 2009 Minnesota marriage documents showing Ilhan Abdullahi Omar wed Ahmed Nur Said Elm identified as her brother. The full main tweet reads:
"🧾 Receipts: Ilhan Omar’s original last name was Elmi before it was changed.
This evidence was available, but the Obama Justice Department refused to investigate.
Her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, and their father, Nur Said Elmi (also known as Nur Omar), used multiple names across different countries. Part of the family fled to the United Kingdom, while Ilhan Omar and others entered the United States under their father’s assumed name, “Omar.”
These name changes and split identities were used to conceal the father’s true war crimes and identity.
Marriage details:
• Groom: Ahmed Nur Said Elmi
• Bride: Ilhan Abdullahi Omar
(real name Ilhan Elmi)
Extradition? @TheJusticeDept@DHSgov@WhiteHouse"
(The post quotes an earlier tweet from March 17: "Careful now, daughter of the Colonel… it’s all true. ALL of it. We’ve got the receipts and they’re looking extra right now. Might be time to talk extradition… DOJ.")
Attached are two scanned images purportedly showing the marriage certificate listing the groom as Ahmed Nur Said Elmi and the bride as Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, dated 2009 in Minnesota.
The thread revives long-standing allegations of immigration fraud via a sham sibling marriage, first raised in 2016 and amplified by President Trump in late 2025 during his second term. It ties the claims to Omar's opposition to Somaliland recognition and her support for a unified Somalia in regional disputes calling her "daughter of the Colonel" and pushing for DOJ extradition.
Despite renewed scrutiny including Trump rally calls, congressional subpoenas by Rep. Nancy Mace in early 2026, and reviews by Border Czar Tom Homan—no criminal charges have resulted. Omar has denied the claims as baseless and bigoted attacks. Fact-checkers like Snopes continue to rate the brother-marriage allegation as lacking solid proof.
Somaliland's post looks like straight geopolitical payback: Omar backs Somalia against their independence bid. With Republicans holding power in Washington, the thread demands real answers or real consequences.
