@TweetinderKaul 1/2 The complications of this arrangement will take time to unfold. This is likely to have US backing but will be Iran focused. US wouldn’t sanction an attack on Israel. W.r.t Indo-Pak conflicts, Turkey will be confined to arms delivery/training. Saudi will keep a distance.

@tavleen_singh Disagree. What Pakistan did in Punjab/Kashmir; what can be done by reigniting naxals and trouble in north-east (by any external force - Pakistan standalone or with tactical help from China/B’desh) is nothing but destabilizing. Agencies will fight but there’s no absolute defence.

@sushantsareen 3. Pak may have even offered to help US in getting Bagram back - though it will never do so, since China wouldn’t approve of it and even Pak wouldn’t want a US base close by. Also, Any armed conflict keeps Munir relevant in Pak.

@sushantsareen 2. Also, for US, Pak is helpful in keeping India on its toes. It is likely that the Pakistani attacks on Afg since last year were already pre-approved by US, as a larger concession sought by Pak in its fight against terrorism (just as US designated BLA as terror organisation)

@sushantsareen 1. From a US perspective, It is to be seen differently. Between Taliban n Pak, there are no better moral choices. Taliban r not so malleable but Pak and its agencies are available for rent. If paid well, Pak can kill Palestinians, give airbases and access route to attack Iran/Afg

@MoeedNj 1. Today Khan is in jail due to Munir. But in a normal rule of law country he would mostly be in jail anyways for the kind of corruption his govt. indulged in. Khan only has a personal grudge against the military, not a principled one.

@sardesairajdeep Some people may agree with the spirit of the game argument - but u shockingly went on to draw parallels between Pahalgam and Pak’s rant on Baluchistan. U need to realize that ur entire Pak philosophy is misplaced, unless ofcourse you strengthen these false equivalences knowingly.
