Last week, I was invited to attend and speak at the ‘PM’s Roundtable with Global Energy Leaders’ on the sidelines of the India Energy Week.

This was the first official meeting I attended after the tragedy in our family. I am very grateful to Pradhan Mantri ji who expressed his condolences and deep sympathy for my loss. His advice that my wife and I stay strong and continue to do our work which is important for the country, provided great solace.

I took the opportunity to inform him that I have already announced that 75% of my wealth will go back to society. I will cease to be a promoter and will work as a trustee.

Very humbly, in keeping with the wishes of my late son, I put forward a request to do something big in education or healthcare or anything else that can benefit society. I would like to put in Rs10,000 crore-Rs 15,000 crore in such an effort. I am thankful to the PM for appreciating the sentiment.

We are lucky to have a PM who not only has eyes and ears on the ground but also possesses great empathy towards all Indians.

His words are a massive support to our family as we try and pick up our lives after tragedy and grief.

I humbly appeal to all of you. You gave the Congress a chance for many years, the Communist Party for 34 years, and the TMC for 15 years.

Their track record is of pushing the state backwards, while the BJP’s track record is of taking people forward.

I urge the people of Bengal to, under the leadership of Modi ji, form a BJP government with a full majority in the state.

The nation must apologize to the family as this is not just an assault on an individual but on the idea of Bharat itself. It is a step in the right direction to acknowledge the lack of livelihood opportunities in migrants' homelands, where a large percentage of the population relies on farming. As soil degradation and desertification take their toll, reviving millet cultivation with tree-based agriculture is a long-term solution. Millet ensures basic nourishment, while trees are standing wealth on the land – an incentive for people to not leave their homelands. This can be a game-changer for large-scale migration from Africa.
