Underrated life advice: Keep proof that good things happen to you. Old photos. Kind messages. Positive feedback. Notes from great days. Whatever. Store them in a single place. Call it a Rainy Day Folder. Pop it open on a bad day and watch your mood turn. It's a free reset button.
Most ads on social media seem to have one theme: you are doing it wrong.
You are eating wrong. You are drinking wrong. You are sleeping wrong. You are crapping wrong. You are working wrong. You are holidaying wrong.
Nothing you do is, apparently, right. It's all left.
I've been taking flights out of Indore, my hometown, for over a decade now. On every flight, to this day, I see passengers taking selfies, video-calling their family and filming the takeoff and the landing. Because it's their first flight ever.
It's a small anecdotal data point, but it's evidence of continuous socio-economic movement- the kind that really matters. I wonder how many flights the first-time flyers from a decade back have taken since.
Things we take for granted.
Reduce the number of T20Is and give us more ODIs, there are way too many T20 matches already. This ODI format has always been the best. Long live ODI cricket!
Nagzira tigress killed on NH-53 Vidarbha corridors keep claiming tigers.
Last night around 2 a.m., a tigress was hit by a truck on NH-53 in the corridor linking Nagzira-Navegaon and Umred-Karhandla in Bhandara district. She died on the spot.
Preliminary findings suggest she belonged to the Nagzira population.
Over the years, Maharashtra has seen numerous cases of tigers and other wildlife being killed by trains. Nearly 90 percent of these incidents have occurred in just seven districts of Vidarbha mainly Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Wardha and Nagpur.
The government must treat these repeated accidents as a serious lesson and act so that wildlife safety on these corridors can actually be secured. #bigcatdeath #wildlifecare #wildlifeawareness #tigerkillonroad #wildlifecorridor
Every other person I meet these days is going to the gym, taking protein and health supplements, working on self-improvement, joining running clubs, or going for walks.
Even normal people are talking about HYROX now. People I know are running marathons and flexing their medals and certificates on Instagram stories.
People have become so much more health-conscious. I never thought I’d be shipping electrolytes to Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities in bulk.
Crazy change in consumer behaviour. India is such an aspirational market.
You have to feel for Yashasvi Jaiswal. He can't play ODIs because a 39-year-old veteran wants to play the format. He isn't in T20 scheme of things because India are backing a 15-year-old. Opposite ends of spectrum.
The cheetahs that landed in Kuno in 2022 still thought June was winter. Because in Namibia, it is. Shorter days. Cooler nights. A thicker coat growing in, exactly as their bodies had been doing for generations south of the Equator.
India does the opposite. June is heat and monsoon. Same months, inverted world.
So some of them grew a winter coat in the middle of an Indian summer. The fur held the rain. Ticks moved in. Collars rubbed wet skin. They scratched. Wounds opened. Maggots followed. Three adults didn’t make it.
Nobody had a textbook for this. Not the Namibian team. Nor the Indian scientists. The pineal gland only reads night length.
The ones who lived through a full year began to reset. The cubs born here never had the old clock at all. Thirty-two of them opened their eyes under northern daylight. Their coats, their breeding, their sense of when winter arrives - already Indian.
That is the quiet part of the 52. Not just numbers. A species that crossed the Equator, paid for the mismatch in skin and blood, and then handed a correctly timed body to its young.
Nature is stubborn. It is also faster than we give it credit for.

This is the stupidest decision by the Modi government to date. Visa & Mastercard will be celebrating in America.
No wonder the seths of Bengal financed Robert Clive in 1757. It’s in our genes to extract defeat from the jaws of victory & help the foreigner.
The most valuable part of UPI is the data on high frequency spending patterns, which eventually will go dark in part due to cash. Visa and Mastercard will pick up a larger share of the data and transaction value too. Introducing transaction charges is a subpar policy that firmly undermines national interest. A small upfront cost paid by the state safeguards national data, encourages digitization of payments, and improves accountability. Rather curious that policymakers and politicians choose to be penny wise and pound foolish.
Law-abiding, rules-obeying, taxpaying citizens in our country are always asked to abide by more laws, obey more rules and (directly or indirectly) asked to pay more types of taxes, while those who do none of this are rarely ever punished and often even rewarded with freebies etc.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
India needs a massive, war-footing cleanup of its cities, streets and public spaces before we reach a point of no return. The filth we see isn't just a government failure, it is also the direct result of citizens treating public spaces like personal garbage dumps. When there is no punishment for littering, people feel entitled to dump waste wherever they please. Clean cities require both serious enforcement and citizens who stop behaving as if public cleanliness is someone else’s responsibility.
INDIA 🇮🇳 NEEDS A MASSIVE CIVIC MOVEMENT.
Even as the largest growing major economy, India continues to be one of the filthiest nations with corrupt, non-functional municipalities, terrible urban infrastructure, shockingly bad civic and traffic sense, and no punishment for treating the country like a dump yard, either for officials or citizens.
Unless civic governance and civic sense is fixed, I’m afraid we will remain the Third World.
