Exactly. Every side of politics uses hate as a method to manipulate the citizens to vote for the “right person.” Nowadays it’s more extreme, especially with the 2016 presidential election between Trump and Clinton.
@TomoyoshiKimur1@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
I completely agree. There will always be bias in this society, and this plan will cause more threats and issues between the extremists on both sides. It will definitely lead to more destruction and chaos.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
3. Mr. Soros’s proposed solution is to eliminate specific politicians who take part in “political demonization.” I understand the reason behind it and even though I wish it will work, I don’t believe it will. It could lead to more dangerous threats.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
2. I agree there is a new normal of political demonization in the United States. Even though there have always been extremists on both sides, it appears that there’s more extremists attacking Trump as well as his supporters attacking his opponents.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
1. The tone of politics, in my opinion, has changed drastically since the election of President Trump. Everyone seems more divided and separated than ever, and don’t seem to have an open mind for others opinions and choices.
@TsifiraV I agree. There are circumstances when immigrants are running away from danger in their own countries, they come to America for safety and a new start. They want to live without fear and build a new future for their families. #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
@BrowneAubrie@MsSuh104 Exactly. No matter what actions or decisions we make, there will be consequences. The consequences could simply lead to bigger issues and make the circumstances worse. #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
@angeloapenglish@MsSuh104 I completely agree. It’s fascinating that the local police have the choice whether to turn the immigrant to ICE or to let them go home. What’s interesting is no matter the decision, there’s still consequences, both good and bad. #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#ApLangDiscussion
3. I’m not sure on an aspect of the law I would change, maybe that ICE demands the police to keep the illegal immigrants for 48 hours. Maybe this would prevent more crimes and secure trust between the police and the people.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
2. The benefits of sanctuary cities are a sense of security and safety, not just for the citizens but the immigrants. The drawbacks are the risks of anyone not being able to contact or trust the police so more crimes occur in the city.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
1. The most interesting fact I learned from the video was that the police enforcement is able to either follow through with ICE’s request or let the illegal immigrant go instead of holding them for 48 hours.
@JesseyLuna@APSteinhauser#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
I agree. I’m not sure our generation will, but at the same time, our parents told us Santa and the Easter Bunny were real. Eventually we learned the truth, and discovered our own thoughts and ideas. There’s a possibility they could change their mind.
@HonkenNicholas@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
I completely agree with you. The odds of everyone living in peace and harmony is basically impossible, but it’s still nice to think that maybe there will be a time when there is some sense of harmony.
@ncrowley8@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
I agree completely. These days, for some reason, it appears that people are very separated and aren’t accepting of one another. Hate exists everywhere, no one can truly say whether or not they’re truly safe. You are only in control of your actions.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
4. I would like to believe that my generation will be able to put differences aside so there can finally be peace and a sense of security, but I don’t think we will. However, I’m going to try and push us to be that first generation to be open-minded.
@MsSuh104#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
2. I do not believe my community is relatively-safe from hate-related crimes, I truly don’t think any community is. Nowadays, these crimes can occur anywhere. This event for example, no one thought it would happen to them, until it did.
@Joshua_Hynds @APSteinhauser Exactly. Families all over the globe hope to come to this country to have a fresh start, to have some freedom. People come to the US to have their kids live with equal rights. All parents just want the best for their kids.
#SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
@KristianaKourt1@MsSuh104 I completely agree. In countries that guarantee birthright citizenship, everyone have equal rights and equal citizenship. No one feels less or higher than others, everyone feels as if they belong. #SuhAPLang#APLangDiscussion
