White House Moves To Give US Agencies Access To Anthropic's Mythos

The White House is moving to give US agencies access to Anthropic's Mythos Preview, which has been held back from broad public release due to its offensive cybersecurity capabilities, according to Bloomberg.

Mythos has reportedly uncovered thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities during testing, including flaws dating back more than two decades. Anthropic has distributed it only to a hand-picked group of technology and cybersecurity companies under a program called Project Glasswing.

The push comes days after Treasury CIO Sam Corcos sought access to the model for vulnerability hunting, and after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Fed Chair Jerome Powell convened bank CEOs to discuss the threat.

The move sits alongside an unresolved legal fight. The Pentagon designated Anthropic a supply chain risk earlier this year, and a federal appeals court recently denied the company's request to block the designation, even as a separate San Francisco ruling allows Anthropic to keep working with non-DoD agencies.
