In response to the article below. In 2021 it came to light that a series of unlawful killings had taken place in East Lancashire Hospitals Trust with patients having been deliberately harmed and killed. The first known death occurred back in 2015. There have been several since with one killing also linked to a death in Humberside by the same doctor.

Recent response from the CQC said they can't do anything about it and especially on individual cases going back that far because of this 3 year rule. When there is no statute of limitation on murder why is there any limitation on a regulator trying to ensure patient safety and uncover what is going on. It is beyond madness.

As a consequence of this 3 year time limit and a concerted cover up by Lancashire Police to suppress the scandal, patients are still being harmed in Royal Blackburn Hospital and are not safe.

Labour's Manifesto said:- ....too many victims of historical injustices have had insult added to injury by years of legal delays. Without justice and the truth, victims and their families cannot move forward. Labour will stop the chaos that lets too many criminals act with impunity, turn the page with stronger policing, and rebuild our criminal justice system.

If that promise is true then @wesstreeting please remove the limitation and enable these historical cases to be looked at. Otherwise the only message you will be sending out to the public is - adherence to a nonsense rule that in reality should not and does not need to be there is more important than protecting the public and bringing those who harm patients in the NHS or social care to justice.

As for adding insult to injury some of us have had to endure unspeakable trauma for years not only because of the horrific way our relatives have been harmed and died or as patients have been victims of sexual abuse at the hands of health professionals but because so far every one who should have done something has turned a blind eye to what is not just a National Health Service but a National Harming Scandal. For once can a Health Secretary be part of the solution and not the problem.

I believe the NHS is so far gone now in corruption, it will take something huge to bring it back & I don't know what that is. It has been left too long with nobody to enforce accountability, so its toxicity and untouchability are completely out of control and protected by lawyers

Is the management regulator going to be any different?
