@CursedCatTruffa I agree it's bad but I feel like it's selling them short, like the new archer lady was from nobility but her dad got stripped of his title - that's actually very interesting to me, the "older men" thing feels like a silly footnote compared to that?
@FE_Red_Dragoon Given what we've seen in the trailers I think these guys don't kick in until something plot-related happens and they're trying to keep it somewhat vague
@defendthenestSD Yes but only temporarily. Some players will almost certainly squeeze out massive contracts by leveraging the situation, but the cap still exists and the league as a whole can't sustain every highish caliber player making 15M+ so at some point the money's gonna run out
@MattA1100@OldboyGming@anaheimd_memes no, he signed the 5x18 offer sheet. it's not gonna change. he took it. only thing in question is if he plays through it in Philly or Anaheim. Ducks can't offer him an entirely different deal.
@nova_what@P__Airoldi I mean it doesn't need to be 4 straight "runs", as long as they just make the playoffs at all each year it's a 17th pick at best. No guarantee they don't slip up but it's not that crazy an expectation given where they seem to be at.
@Crossy_C98@qqranqepool It kinda clashes a lil bit that he would do all that stuff during Void Time b/c the implication when you find him in there in 5 is that he's been scared shitless the whole time trying to avoid unfathomably strong void monsters
@Crossy_C98@qqranqepool Hang on, he's banished in Exdeath Castle, then you find him terrified at the start of the last area in the void, and the Necrophobe fights is also in that area. I guess that means he would have to do all that traveling during World 3 then?
@Chibi22395 Did it not come to you at any point that a guy who edited a screenshot to read "Redeemable King of Moral Greyness" might not have been making a serious point
@hourlymoka@Anupa2k4 ...ultimately in either case you still have a limited framework of reference for discussion because you haven't experienced said whole.
@hourlymoka@Anupa2k4 but "seeing" the game is just as fundamentally different as playing the game than listening to a soundtrack is to watching the movie. In both cases you can have a discussion about the thing you engaged with despite not having experienced the whole but....
@Veritox223 Permadeath is also important gameplay-wise; I've played casual mode and the complete loss of gravitas around unit loss fundamentally alters how the moment to moment gameplay feels. In that sense the limited rewind systems of newer games is a much better fix to me than casual mode
@Veritox223 Sure, permadeath imposes narrative restrictions on the games, but so do many other mechanical decisions one can make for a game. There's always going to be a push-and-pull for that kind of stuff and so saying a gameplay mechanic is bad for that reason is a bit short-sighted imo
@xRay_Reaper@TakunHiwatari BD uses a souped up version of the FF5 job system, kicking you off with Monks & Black Mages and what have you. Its plot revolves around 4 elemental crystals. It is arguably the most Final Fantasy coded game ever made not to feature the words Final and Fantasy in its title.
@MattGajtka@JFreshHockey@LAKings874 I'll let you decide for yourself whether it succeeds at that or not, but what the Nordiques logo is -meant- to represent is an igloo with a truncated side so it also looks like a lowercase n.
