Jacob Coxon, the former Anthropic researcher who resigned while predicting that AI will destroy all humanity, tells CBS News' @jolingkent that he's not prepping for his prediction because he doesn't think it will do much good.

BREAKING:
Anthropic is reportedly building an extensive surveillance and intelligence system to monitor activists and protests opposing artificial intelligence, according to The Prospect.
The “Godfather of AI” Geoffrey Hinton says there is more than a 10% chance that AI could kill all humans within the next decade.
“Yes… if it’s much smarter than us, there’s so many ways it could do it.”

Student loan lenders are having an amazing year.
While Americans drown in $2 trillion of student loan debt, private lenders are charging up to 18% interest on their loans and making hundreds of thousands of dollars on just one loan.
Sallie Mae and SoFi are reporting record numbers right now, as borrowers suffer.
nthropic says that one of its Claude models mistakenly gained access to the open internet and read someone's personal information during a cybersecurity exercise in January, marking the fourth time its models have done so.
The model was told it was operating in a simulation without internet access, but due to a mistake, the environment actually left internet access open. Anthropic said it believes these incidents would not have happened had the environments actually been isolated from the internet as intended, but cybersecurity experts remain concerned about models' potential to cause harm.

Artificial intelligence author and researcher Nate Soares warned years ago about the possibility of A.I. taking over humanity. 🤖
Now that more people are finally having the conversation, he shares what an A.I. doomsday scenario could actually look like.
Researchers spent 500 hours and $70,000 and found LG TVs logging plain text transcripts in standby, mapping every device in the house, and feeding it to LG's ad arm
Unplug the internet and it saves the files until you plug back in.
LG says its TVs don't record ambient conversations.
The evidence begs to differ.
216 million of these are sitting in living rooms.
Where are the regulators?

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
An AI researcher has resigned from Anthropic, warning that the industry is racing towards superintelligent AI that could eventually improve itself beyond human control.
Could AI wipe out humanity by the end of the decade?
Experts are sounding the alarm. Tristan Harris, Co-Founder of the Center for Humane Technology, joins @TMZLive to break down the concerns.
Flock Camera Installer SWATS Atlanta News First Investigative Journalist
-----
As it turns out, Flock Camera Installers don't like to be watched.
In this video, a Flock camera installer calls the police because a news journalist is documenting him installing cameras.
I say the Flock camera installer SWATed the journalist because of what the installer says at 1:54 in the video.
"I work with Flock Safety. And I'm getting followed.
Harassed, pretty much. Taking videos and pictures.
I'll just put out my first name because I don't want them to hear my full name on the 911 call when they get it."
When they get the 911 call?
How many people do you know who are illegally harassing and threatening violence to someone, will then later seek out the 911 call of the incident via a FOIA request, and publish that call to the internet?
None. But that is exactly what an investigative journalist would do.
The installer KNEW that this man was a journalist and was acting within his rights and responsibilities. Yet, he called the police on him anyway, claiming the journalist was illegally harassing him and causing him to fear for his safety, so that the police would come and harass the journalist and risk a possible physical altercation, even though the journalist was doing nothing wrong.
