🚨 OFF THE PRESS 🚨
“In Nairobi, the Africa Group led with conviction and clarity, advancing proposals aimed at restoring taxing rights to the Global South. While we were able to push back against multiple attempts to dilute the ambition of the Framework Convention, significant work remains in New York.”
Our Executive Director, @chenaimukumba , reflecting on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation process.

“When the High-Level Panel (HLP) submitted its report in 2015, we sought to make visible what had for too long been hidden: the massive hemorrhaging of Africa’s resources through illicit financial flows. We showed that IFFs were not an abstract problem, but a very real drain on Africa’s capacity to finance its own development, provide social services, and build the industries and infrastructure necessary for our people’s prosperity.”
H.E. Thabo Mbeki speaking at the 13th Pan-African Conference on Illicit Financial Flows and Taxation.

One country, one matric examination. In few weeks time all our matriculants will be in the same lecture rooms in the same varsity or college. Why are they still writing different matric exams as IEB or NSC is a matter that must be attended to. Everything is the same beside the name of the exam. The pass mark is the same. The curriculum is the same. The standard bearer is the same ( UMALUSI) We can’t continue to separate exams on the basis of class. The rich, semi rich and poor having different matric examinations. All our children should write the same examination like they do at universities or colleges. It’s about time.
Did you know that feeding 100,000 children in school creates about 1,700 jobs globally? 🥗
School feeding programs not only improve children's health and school attendance, they also create predictable markets for local farmers.

Early childhood education is one of the best investments a country can make to prepare children for learning and give them a chance to thrive later in life.
We need to make sure it receives sufficient funding!

With the current primary school completion rate, we are not on track to achieve the #GlobalGoals by 2030!
For countries to provide quality education for everyone everywhere, primary completion rates must almost triple every year.
