As highlighted by @WHO, Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) is a key action area of the @UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030).
At the 23rd IAGG World Congress, Taiwan’s Health Promotion Administration(HPA) shared its experience in implementing the WHO ICOPE framework. 🇹🇼
Taiwan’s two-step ICOPE model integrates early screening, timely referral, and community-based support to help older adults maintain intrinsic capacity and age in good health. In 2025, approximately 363,000 older adults received ICOPE services, with those showing functional declines referred, according to their needs, to healthcare, long-term care, and community resources.
Taiwan’s experience shows how healthy ageing policies can be translated into practice and offers useful insights for advancing sustainable, community-based care. 🌏

🌍 Taiwan’s successful healthcare model for #HepatitisC elimination gains global recognition at the 79th World Health Assembly #WHA79. ✨

At the “Global Action on Hepatitis C Elimination” side event in Geneva, Taiwan shared its successful “Taiwan Model” after achieving WHO “Gold Tier” standards ahead of schedule.

✅ Diagnosis and treatment rates both exceed 90%
✅ Blood screening and injection safety coverage both reach 100%
✅ Integrated healthcare services from prevention to treatment have significantly improved access to antiviral therapies.

International experts recognized Taiwan as a global benchmark in hepatitis C control. Taiwan will continue working with partners toward the 2030 goal of eliminating viral hepatitis.

All tobacco-free hospitals recommended by Taiwan’s Health Promotion Administration (HPA) received this international recognition and have been invited to share the “Taiwan Experience” at a global forum, highlighting Taiwan’s leadership in tobacco control and health promotion.

🌍 During the 79th World Health Assembly #WHA79 in Geneva, Taiwan successfully hosted the side event “Cancer Policy and Innovation: From Early Detection to Equitable Treatment” to share our commitment to advancing cancer prevention and precision medicine.

As part of the “Healthy Taiwan” vision, Taiwan shared its three key pillars of cancer prevention and control:
🔹 Expanding early detection and cancer screening
🔹Genetic testing and precision medicine
🔹Establishing a dedicated Cancer Drug Fund

The event was well received by international experts, who praised Taiwan’s preventive healthcare strategies and innovative health policies. It also underscored Taiwan’s commitment to global health collaboration, as we continue sharing our experience and working with partners toward a more equitable and resilient future for health.
