I think reporters covering today's Senate vote should be careful to avoid the phrase "averting a strike." What the Senate and House actually just did, with the full backing of most Republicans and senior Democratic leadership, was deprive workers of a fundamental right.
If the railways are too crucial to allow workers to strike, then they are too crucial to be owned by private companies whose only goal is to squeeze them for profit.
Nationalized them, and treat the workers fairly.
VOTE for the same team that currently controls the executive and legislative and doesn’t fulfill their campaign promises, VOTE they say to us as if voting itself can make them do their jobs, VOTE so we can continue making millions of dollars while the minimum wage sits at $7.25
