Today’s stats show one of the lowest rates of teachers leaving their jobs on record.
There’s also been a 13% rise in people training to teach, smashing recruitment targets in subjects like maths and science.
🚨 NEW: Latest stats show we’re over 70% of the way to our target to recruit 6,500 teachers in the places they’re needed most.
We have 4,654 more teachers in those schools and colleges compared to 2024.

Wanting growth. Go green! CBI report shows Britain’s green economy growing by ten per cent a year, as are green jobs, now totalling over a million, paying better and more productive than others. Scrapping net zero would be economic madness.

As a man in my 40s, prostate cancer is something I’m beginning to think more about.
Screening can be life saving, but it is complex.
We’re following the science by focusing on those most at risk, helping men get earlier answers and better care, and avoiding unnecessary harm.
I am devastated by the loss of three service personnel overnight. They served with excellence and will be much missed.
All our thoughts are with their families, friends and those they served with at this incredibly sad time.
I thank the emergency services for their response.
The bee has been a symbol of co-operation in Britain since 1844, when the Rochdale Pioneers carved a beehive into the stonework of the world’s first co-operative store.
It’s been the emblem of our movement ever since, and it’s the symbol of our party today. 🐝
This is the difference this Labour government is making.
Kids starting the day full and ready to learn, no matter their background.
An achievement all Labour MPs can be proud of- and opposed by the Conservatives and Reform.

10 million better days at school – more children turning up, concentrating & getting on ✅
More freedom to work – morning childcare that gives parents the flexibility to get to work on time or take on more hours ✅
It's more than just a Breakfast.
Fantastic achievement. Delivering for children and parents across the country.
Breakfast clubs give children the best start to the day.
They also help busy parents get off to work too.
An investment in children, their education and the economy.
Labour, not the Greens, is the party of social justice - and we should not be afraid to say so.

10 million easier mornings for parents – better drop-offs & commutes.
Change doesn’t happen by chance, it comes with Labour. 🌹
The scenes this evening in Portswood are completely unacceptable.
The Nowak family made a powerful call to us all yesterday to not let Henry’s death be used to create further division, hatred or tension.
There can be no justification for hijacking this tragedy to stir up violence and disorder. Those responsible can expect to face the full force of the law.
I thank the police who have tonight shown great bravery and calm in the face of disgraceful violence directed at them.
Henry Nowak was kind, thoughtful and much-loved. His life was stolen from him, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.
The bodycam footage is harrowing. It’s absolutely right that the IOPC is looking at this. There are serious questions for the police to answer.
