If you have ever wanted to own a teahouse in the shape of a watermelon, this is your chance. The government of Tajikistan has just put this one, in the town of Hisor, up for auction (estimated value: $3.3 million)
Jake, it is time to say goodbye (or maybe "see you soon", who knows!). We have made a long path, together, since your very first World Championship season in 2019. We bet on a rider that wasn't coming from the normal path and you will agree with us: the bet has paid off. You came to a team, but together we have built a TEAM.
Assen has a special place in our story together. There, we got to the points for the first time, in 2019, and there you made history for the team with your first World Championship win.
But we can't just stop there. Three wins and fifteen podiums don't even tell what we have lived together. There have been bad moments and there have been worse moments, but we have stayed together and rebuilt from there to have Sundays like the one we lived at Silverstone.
We still feel the goosebumps when we think of Silverstone. Do you know what? We were calmed in the garage. We felt you would do it, we could see it coming. What we couldn't see coming was you when we were at the parc fermé. But then we heard the WHOLE grandstand cheering and there you were, ecstatic, enjoying the moment and the support of all the fans.
We are in the form of our lifes, three consecutive podiums already, and we have nine more challenges ahead of us before we separate our ways. Let's make them count, @jakedixonracing!
I’m doing jury service & today I became the first person ever in England (I think!) to swear a legal oath on a river. With my fingers dipped in water taken from the Roding I stated my juror’s oath as follows:
“I swear by the River Roding, from her source in Molehill Green to her confluence with the Thames, that I will faithfully try the Defendant & give a true verdict according to the evidence”
The Judge at Snaresbrook Crown Court had never heard of a situation where someone wanted to swear their juror’s oath on a part of Nature before. However, I explained that Nature was my god & I treat the Roding with the same reverence, sacredness & love in action as many religious people give to their holy book. On this basis he was prepared to allow an oath on the river, as long as I gave an affirmation as well, which I did.
Here’s to introducing the sacredness of Nature back into our legal system, step by step & piece by piece!
@faustocoppi60@NikolaiStause I don't even follow you but your posts appear in my timeline for whatever reason and that definitely isn't true, I thought you were a hot takes parody account
England football team as cricketers a thread ….
1. Jordan Pickford
Wicket keeper. Bats 7. A combination of a million ticks and superstitions at the crease. Destroys himself when he plays and leaves. Somewhere between Steve Smith and Jack Russell technically.
I finished in last place in fantasy football, and tomorrow I have to do my punishment.
I have to sit on a McDonalds for 24 hours unless I can eat my way out of it. Here’s the key I was given by a league mate for what I can eat to shorten my time ⬇️
I sign their new books, I sign their old books, I sign books by other authors, I sign the desk, the floor, my own clothes, I sign the smiling faces of the readers and their children and their children's children. No surface on which ink will dry remains unsigned once I am gone.
Last week Red Bull built a gigantic ski jump on a ski slope in Akureyri, Iceland. Ryōyū Kobayashi flew 291 meters and was in the air for over 10 seconds.
The video is magnificent.
