@8xchamposu Education is a human right.
Agreed, University less so, and it needs paying for, but the current model of monetisation/repayment is stupid.
People don’t want “free everything”, they just don’t want to risk bankruptcy or their lives for education. Just like healthcare.

@8xchamposu You’re projecting your own narrative here. You have no idea what I believe.
In fact, I agree with you that civil service would do a lot of good for teaching responsibility in society. But a system that forces you into the military just to get higher education is wrong.

@8xchamposu@GoodPoliticGuy ?
Why are you responding to a tweet from last week? I forgot you existed.
Also, “you should risk your life to afford an education” is yet another terrible take.
I get it, you disagree, but do you ever step back and read what you’re saying from a 3rd person perspective?
@8xchamposu@GoodPoliticGuy Oh.
In my defence, I haven’t heard anyone seriously think “you’re poor because you have a modern phone/car/[insert-necessity-or-small-luxury-here]” was valid in a while.
I thought we were over shaming people for spending their disposable income to feel like human-beings.
@Millar92 @nicktolhurst As a ‘brit’ who spent his youth growing up in Spain... you are an idiot.
Most English “expats” (hate that term) are more of a blight to the local culture than they are a help to the economy.
Spain will do just fine, don’t you worry.
@jost_george@pillowcasse@SimuLiu 1. Chill dude. If people don't "get your perspective", try explaining it better.
2. No, you didn't say it was learned. You said "f**ked up" and "brainwashed", implying isolated cases of cult-like indoctrination or mental-instability, rather than a society-wide issue.

@Hero_Kvatch@vr_sam That’s a fair point tbf
Unless a game is so amazing it will MAKE people buy a quest, it might be a waste of money marketing it to people who can’t even play it, when you already have direct-to-consumer marketing via the oculus store.
@JoshNaylor MDN web documentation is fantastic, but I’m not sure I’ve ever properly used their site to navigate, just googled what I needed + “MDN” :p
I found Babylons documentation quite nice too.
@Beavs The thread was good. Harsh well-meaning honesty is unfortunately not well received here.
I understand the defensive attitudes of all who took it personally, we’ve all been there.
But learning how to take criticism is a key life skill. If you coddle yourself you will not improve.
I feel like the older you get, the more you realise:
Worldwide consumption of American Media is the sole reason anybody views them and their actions morally superior to China, Russia, or any other nation.
Propaganda works.
@Stuart_Lilford Anything but the ladder. (In 3D games)
IMO the time taken to go up/down usually breaks pacing so badly you might as well have loaded a new level.
The Lightning update on @Oculus Quest introduces an Accessibility feature we created to improve the VR handtracking experience for people with fewer than 10 fingers.
We're glad to keep helping make VR more accessible and comfortable for everyone! #accessibility#ux#ui#vr#xr
@shen@JoshNaylor@Bertaroo "choose"😅 Graduating this year and "Type 2" is the only plan.
No prob though, almost impossible to repay in one lifetime so no use worrying about it!
