3 years ago, I decided to make a list about the women I knew in Ghana’s history. The list was pitifully short. So, I wrote a book for the young me who needed to know the women in Ghana’s history especially around the independence period.
"Teach them that a president who was nicknamed the 'Gentle Giant' is, today, confined to a wheelchair and his mobility would depend on how well duty bearers implemented the Disability Act of making buildings accessible to persons with disability."

Congratulations to the international scholars of @NCARECommunity who celebrated the launch of their book, CRITICAL ACTION RESEARCH CHALLENGING NEOLIBERAL LANGUAGE AND LITERACIES IN EDUCATION, in the @OISEUofT Nexus Lounge today! #OISEresearch
English isn’t a measure of intelligence, it just gives us the ability to communicate with others who speak same.
It isn’t a “benefit” of colonization; they didn’t “gift” us language to make us better, if anything it was to their benefit if we spoke their language.
If you choose a path different from what your immigrant parents have in mind for you, you’ll need to work twice as hard for them to take you seriously.
My paper “Colonialingualism: Colonial legacies, imperial mindsets, & inequitable practices in language education” is published!
Colonialingualism illustrates the transformative limits of uncritical translanguaging & plurilingualism.

In my first piece for the @washingtonpost, I discuss the way that various institutions have colluded to entrench homophobia in Ghana.
This collusion has culminated in the current anti-gay bill before parliament today.
