The world's first AI electronics-prototyping cloud lab. Backed by a $10M National Science Foundation award to build a national cloud lab in Fort Worth, TX.
Want to compare? Here's the same buck converter board built with Claude:
KiCad: https://t.co/u4CCt5smSu
Fusion 360: https://t.co/iTPeOEsNt3
Altium: https://t.co/uzsUMs5o0k
Gemini 4 Argon just landed, so we had to test it.
We've had AI build the same 12Vβ5V buck converter PCB in KiCad, Fusion 360 and Altium. This time we gave Argon the same one-sentence prompt.
How does Gemini stack up against Claude? Watch to the end π

Thanks @GrizzlyRay for this write-up on our Altium run.
He nailed it: "The Honest Part, and Why I Like It: Here's what I respect most. Adom doesn't hide the rough edges."
We publish what works and what still needs fixing.
Great read π

Same board, three tools:
Part 1, KiCad: https://t.co/u4CCt5rP2W
Part 2, Fusion 360: https://t.co/iTPeOEsfDv
Part 3, Altium: https://t.co/uzsUMs4QaM
What should we have it build next?
AI just designed a complete PCB in Altium Designer.
ONE prompt: schematic, SPICE, placement, routing, copper pours, heat analysis, EMC simulation, then Gerbers and BOM.
<2 hours. About 1% of a weekly Claude limit.

Bring your own AI to Hydrogen with support for models like Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini:
"Use adom-aiflow to design a 12 V to 5 V, 1 A buck converter using the TPS54202, and build it as a complete board in Altium Designer."
Project files: https://t.co/mlRmGNJ1X9
@FalconFour If you want to see how we do it, try this prompt in Hydrogen:
"Use adom-aiflow to design and build a breakout board for the STMicroelectronics VL53L9 3D LiDAR time-of-flight sensor in KiCad." -Colby
@FalconFour Thanks! BOMs are built into AI Flow and our EDA bridges, and every part gets its own wiki page with 3D model, symbol and footprint. A standalone BOM skill would be great though: build one and ask your AI to publish it to https://t.co/vB0DMtj4v8 for all Adom users! -Colby
@FalconFour We chose VS Code because it's the one surface where every model provider and subscription works. Internally at Adom, we only use the VSCode pane in Hydrogen for chats with agents. KiCad integration is early and improving fast, more to come soon. 2/2 -Kyle
@FalconFour Thanks for this feedback. If I understand you correctly, the welcome page didn't update after you linked your model provider account. We're releasing an updated version with this fix shortly! 1/2
This is the first video of an AI designing a complete circuit board in Fusion 360. We gave Claude one prompt in Adom Hydrogen, and it drove Fusion from schematic to Gerbers in under 3 hours, fixing its own placement along the way. https://t.co/vk3ZGgPwnB
Using Adom Hydrogen, we asked AI to design an AM/FM radio from scratch and got a DRC-clean 4-layer board in one conversation. The board is being built now. Next video: we power it on to see if it works. https://t.co/HmapWxEEFj
We set out to prove AI can do real, engineered PCB design. Here's a 12 V to 5 V buck converter Claude built start to finish in Adom Hydrogen, simulated, laid out and thermally checked.
