yeah, I'm _that_ FalconFour. Give your chrome-trimmed Model 3 a CCS retrofit here: https://t.co/zMO4XqdZTx
Here to answer your questions -- at least on the alternating days I'm poking my head into the broken state of Twitter.
@CHPAlerts@SanJosePD@CHP_HQ This is what the alert looks like when it's blasted. A generic bitly link with no information unless you click the link - something I would fully expect from a compromised system, not a legitimate source. Every security expert would tell you not to click it.
@CHPAlerts@SanJosePD .@CHP_HQ This is HORRIBLY-executed as a blasted emergency alert on mobile:
* it's not a government site (bitly is generic/public/freely scammable)
* it has a sense of urgency (click now! your life is in danger!)
* people that did click it report being asked to log-in (phishing)
@Disco77Cowboy@virtuallyleslie@MyLordBebo Pardon my intrusion, but your post came up while searching literally for that statement. The @Waymo account hasn't posted anything whatsoever about this, and I'm still left looking for it. So hi, I found your rant before I was able to locate "Waymo's X statement" π«
@Jzach654321@Breaking911 One of the best things a company can do is "chaos engineering" - unpredictably break things in a test environment to see what else breaks where it wasn't expected. A failure like this should prove valuable to @Waymo. I'd guess a failsafe for individual cars, not tested at scale.
@wholemars Character limit, limits nuance - it only happens when climate is in manual mode. I use Auto mode 98% of the time. When I do use manual mode in that 2% of the time, *I want manual controls* and that's why it was annoying.
@wholemars Been a thing for a while. I found it slightly annoying as I wanted to just have outside air & no heat/AC (cold outside, wearing jacket inside, going for range) - and it's like "OwO i sense fogging!" and overrides my controls. I don't like having manual control taken away. π€·ββοΈ
@FluxNatural @Project_RCC "User input is error" is intended to mean that if a user provides input, it should be treated as a training opportunity for the system to be better at being automatic. The problem is only that they're removing user input instead of being better.
@mehauff7@Waymo Don't discount San Jose (/whole SF Bay area). It was SF city only for a long time but only recently FINALLY opened up to millions more users. I just used it this past weekend from home for the first time. Still over-constrained area tho & waiting for freeway access!
@TheWapplehouse Hot but legitimate take: even after reading the comments I can say I've never seen these people or their names before, and I'm in a better mental state for not having been glued to TV enough to care
@cybrtrkguy@itskyleconner A billion times better than diesel engines and electric heaters tho. Fair compomise - use the efficient drive train & use combustion for heat where heat is needed. Dramatically improves the efficiency of "burning stuff".
@meowkoteeq @MejaActual lord knows that whatever fees are charged for such transfers would be utterly devoid of meaning anyway... infinite money hack for banks tho
@meowkoteeq @MejaActual lifehack: every month just open a new account and transfer it out there
*assuming it's the balance that doubles, not the amount received, but the literal wording suggests the amount received doubles & the system would completely break the very next day anyway
@Project_RCC Is that really how v14 is? I was very upset hearing v14 would not allow user to control speed. I have always driven by "coded speed" in my own driving - speed limit with offset based on lane choice. With HW3 I don't get to see v14 (lite) for a while. Don't like "predicted" speed.
@grok@TeslaTruckClub @Project_RCC Seems like most news reports as if FSD is just "running red lights" which smells an awful lot like the misreporting of FSD "running stop signs" when it just did the most-complete stop of most drivers (but not fully zero MPH). Nuance is hard for media pursuing clickbait. But cool!
@TeslaTruckClub @Project_RCC However (character limit yay!) I have also started seeing FSD (HW3) doing the worst actions of human drivers: "anticipate and creep" at a red light. More than 3 times now, I've had FSD start creeping forward while the light was red at the point traffic pattern appeared green soon
