@PaulAnleitner They won’t retcon the sequels, they’ll just set the next trilogy a hundred/thousand years in the future.
And the cycle will go on and on and on, until Star Wars dies in a whimper.
Heh, Kreia was right.
Under « classic » Andal Law, sure (even though there have been some cases open to discussion) but for the Iron Throne or the Targaryens?
If anything the whole Jahaerys heirs mess showed that the King has a choice in the naming of his heir.
It’s only post-Dance that the rules of succession are solidified under the Greens influence.
Yet much further down the line, the possibility of a choice of heirs appears again when it came for Maekar’s succession.
By all accounts Maegor son of Aerion was the legitimate heir and yet he didn’t inherit (100$ that he was meant to be fAegon ancestor).
@fabiodesorriso@SunmiRomance@cerseidefender Lyanna was 14 when she was crowned Queen of Love and Beauty at Harrenhall, 15 when she ran away and 16 when she died birthing Jon.
Robert’s slightly worse but let’s not excuse Rhaegar.
Maybe the cousins were closer than they thought they’d be.
Yes, Robert’s a pedo and overall terrible person, but Rhaegar’s as terrible or even more than he is.
Lyanna was a child when he « fell in love » with her.
I find it funny to point out that hypocrisy.
Is it Ned that actively try and paint Rhaegar in a better light because of Jon?
Or is it GRRM who has a blindspot?
Mayhaps both?
@Maddie_Lynni@cerseidefender Robert’s a pedo, that’s not up to debate.
Rhaegar’s one as well, Lyanna was what 14 when he became enamored with her?
I just like to point out how the Targtard is as despicable or even more so as Bobby B.
@manti_cored@cerseidefender Robert is a terrible person by our standards, but somehow I’d argue he is better than Rhaegar.
Rhaegar actions not only caused untold amount of death and misery, he also somehow doubled down on it.
He has no excuses.
Robert at least didn’t actively plunge the realm in civil war
@32nds@capnkaba The Forerunners were Ancient Humans but not our direct ancestors on Earth
They somehow found Earth, populated by our branch of Humanity and were puzzled by it, how could it be?
In any case they saw us as innocents of their hubris and that’s why we are the Reclaimers.
Hot or cold?
Lmao, Tywin directly gives Tyrion all power to deal with all the King’s Landing « idiots » who managed to fuck it all up.
Littlefinger has no power, no leverage, nothing over Tyrion, except supposedly his ability to make money appear, which for a LANNISTER is worthless.
He has no important lordships, no armies, no bloodties, nothing but his schemes.
The fact that Tyrion leaves him alive, whilst Littlefinger tried to cause his death (and started the WOTFK) is peak retardness.
Had Tyrion just spoken about what he heard at his trial in the Eyrie and Tywin would have sent the Mountain after LF.
GRRM glosses over it quite fast in Tyrion’s inner thoughts when he’s in King’s Landing because he knows it’s slippy plot.
I like Littlefinger, the little creepy evil Gatsby expy that he is, but there’s no denying GRRM kinda fucked around with the details, which in the grand scheme of things is fine, but let’s not pretend is flawless.
@cunklover69@JoeNoriega23@Tessafuentes_pv@Sparkpoodle1 The Imp was the most powerful man in King’s Landing at the time, being Hand of the King and acting with Tywin’s backing.
Shouldn’t be hard for such a person to make a supposedly friendly accountant disappear without justification, just because he can.
He did it with Slynt.
@JoeNoriega23@Tessafuentes_pv@Sparkpoodle1 He’s also ridiculous in the books
His scheme to inculpate Tyrion in the whole Bran thing is obvious and stupid
The fact that it works is an ass pull, made worse because TYRION FUCKING KNOWS ABOUT IT AND STILL KEEPS LITTLEFINGER ALIVE, EVEN KNOWING HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WOTFK!
@EnforcerNo0@MisterFireTango@MikeyNohMore It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner
