Monksleaze was opened further yesterday. Pumping started overnight at Currymoor, additional pumps switched on this morning. Pumping has also commenced at Huish Episcopi and Westover today. additional pumps at other sites will be switched on as levels recede. @EnvAgencySW

Levels in the Sowy, upstream of Beer Wall are being lowered to winter level today, this will enable in channel work to commence on Monday. The remaining structures on the Tone and Parrett will go to winter settings w/c 1st Dec. The Brue and Axe have already changed. @EnvAgencySW

Monksleaze and Dunball were opened on Friday ahead of the weekends forecast rain to lower levels in the Parrett and Tone, this allowed pumps to continue pumping for longer. Monksleaze will be closed shortly as river levels are rising rapidly. @EnvAgencySW

@InsignificantMe Hi Dawn. The EA have no way of lowering the rhyne you are referring to, The IDB have made adjustments in the area to try to improve the situation. The EA will resume pumping at West Sedgemoor Pumping Station as soon as levels in the Parrett recede.
Allermoor, Beasleys and Hook spillways started running overnight, all Langport and Currymoor pumps have stopped pumping due to high river levels in the Parrett and Tone after yesterdays rain. Pumping will resume when levels subside. @EnvAgencySW
It was great to visit several Environment Agency sites on Friday to see the upgrades they've made to protect Somerset from flooding. I'm particularly excited by their new telemetry devices that'll give local communities more agency and reassurance ahead of the winter.
