Group 3 have made over 25 hampers for Swansea Women's Aid. We will be taking them down today. Massive thank you to everyone who donated (across the various campuses). "I have been very proud of how the group have conducted themselves throughout this activity"said tutor Bev Morgan
2/2 - Since then we have been busy collecting items to donate.Β Our plan is to take the hampers down to Swansea Womenβs Aid in the first week of December.@GowerCollegeSwa
1/2-One of our groups have decided they would like to create Christmas hampers for Swansea Womenβs Aid.Β A number of us know friends and family who had accessed this facility.Β We wanted to try and make things a little easier for people at Christmas.Β @GowerCollegeSwa
Been a awesome few days with @GowerCollegeSwa speaking at their learners fest. One more to go tomorrow and just look what it means to these young people ππ»
Attendance and engagement has far exceeded the teamsβ expectations. Competitions across groups are in place to see who grows the tallest sunflower, whose seeds sprout first and whose herb tastes the nicest.
This year we have introduced a new unit to our Advance into FE course. This unit is called βgrowing plantsβ. It is a very practical unit and learners are experiencing how to grow from seed, how to pot on and how to plant outside in borders. @GowerCollegeSwa
Bev has then been doing daily live video calls demonstrating how to plant and learners have been following the steps in the comfort of their own homes. The buy in from the learners has been exemplary.
They are growing a variety of plants/herbs. The intention was to deliver this unit in college, however lockdown hit and we had to deliver it remotely. Bev Morgan has been taking boxes around to each learnersβ home which contained the materials needed to start their unit from home
Group C participated in Remembrance Day and held a 2 minute silence.
One of our learners Ben Lazenby (top left) had a grandfather who served in both wars in L detachment of the SAS with David Sterling #RemembranceDay@GowerCollegeSwa
