One thing that dawned on me overwhelmingly during my time off was that I, and most other people here - were/are lost in analysis paralysis.

Most people are reading into everything WAY too much. Trying to infer too much from minor details and extrapolate too much or too far forward from insignificant events.

All that achieves is a messy and overwhelmed mind.

You can guise it as "analysing the market" but afaic it's largely mental masturbation.

Most of your time in the markets is simply spent waiting and exercising patience. The urge to fill that time with incessant thinking and "analysis" is likely an driven by the want/urge/desire to feel/appear busy or similar.

At least in my own case, in became quite apparent to me that is was almost entirely net negative.

Less is more.
