I have absolutely zero confidence that DEI helps the US military, I would argue that it is negatively impacting them. Our armed forces need to be focused on recruitment, retention, and readiness, not buzzwords like inclusion and equity.

As someone who’s been blown up twice, I can tell you personally that an enemy’s bombs and bullets don’t care about your gender preference or skin color.

It’s my duty to the American people to find out how DEI benefits the military and how they’re spending taxpayer money. That’s why I’m asking for a report on this in my NDAA amendment.

He returned from Vietnam in time to teach me to walk.

He gave me my first passport and said “in your travels you’ll understand the honor, privilege, and responsibility it is to be an American.”

He made me do tough chores and work tough jobs before and during my university years to understand what it’s like to labor.

He taught me to change my oil, service my vehicle, and get my hands dirty to get the job done.

He taught me integrity is doing the right thing even when nobody is watching…And so much more.

He proudly gave me my second salute (after the traditional Marine Corps “Gunny” first salute).

He taught me leading is setting the example and inspiring and taking care of your people.

I gave him his final salute at Arlington, but I salute him each and every day.

I love you, Dad.
