This is the future I hope for them. They served the country faithfully, saved us from Trump and kept fascism at bay. When these last six months are over, I hope they have years of light and love and peace and laughter together.

So…my Valentine’s story is from a long time ago. Some teenage lads thought it would be a good prank to send me a card, ostensibly from H.
I liked H but wasn’t sure he liked me, so hoped the card was genuine.

Story time.
I am a former pastor of 10+ years. Our church was full of very not churchy ppl. Most of our congregation was made of former felons, recovering addicts, and people who were just trying to put their life back together. In short, they were the most wonderfully loving1/
begging dudes like this to realize that no-fault divorce and equal pay laws are the only reason that they don’t know what coffee tastes like when it’s sweetened with antifreeze
I made a mini medieval feast for us and a couple of friends from the 14th-century English cookbook, 'The Forme of Cury'. And I wanted to try 3 that made use of spices from around the globe - galangal, ginger, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon - showing the complexity of medieval cuisine.
Fascism, as it arose in the 20th century, was initially defined by its opposition to communism. It cannot be understood outside of this frame.
Communists rise, wreak havoc, and say they’re going to do more — these are the necessary preconditions for 20th c. style fascism.
In this sense, it was an ideology defined by *two* inversions. Communists defined themselves by opposition to traditionalism, capital, normalcy — then fascists defined themselves by opposition to communism.
This is why fascism was not “conservative.” It is post-progressive, or more accurately anti-progressive.
It also cannot arise without communism as an adversary. You don’t get Hitler without the 1918 Revolution, and you don’t get Mussolini without communism first rising in postwar Italy.
Many on both the Left and Right misunderstand this, and baselessly throw “fascist!” around when what they really mean is either authoritarian or conservative.
Also, extreme leftists in politics and media bemoan the rise of what they call “fascism” — they entirely miss that if something resembling fascism is rising, it’s because of prominent Marxism.
@ScottWillie19@FFXParentsAssoc I agree, teachers need to be paid better. But they have always been underpaid and yet most have remained for love of teaching. This crisis started when parents started harassing them during the pandemic. That’s when teachers decided they’re not paid enough for that sh*t
@ScottWillie19@FFXParentsAssoc Teachers didn’t go into teaching for pay. It’s for love of teaching. In recent years, parents have started harassing them, throwing out their books, accusing them of grooming, insisting they teach during a deadly pandemic etc. It’s definitely the parents’ deranged behavior
Fourteen years ago, when the big three automakers were struggling to stay afloat, my administration and the American people stepped in to support them. So did the auto workers in the UAW who sacrificed pay and benefits to help get the companies back on their feet. Now that our carmakers are enjoying robust profits, it’s time to do right by those same workers so the industry can emerge more united and competitive than ever.
sometimes it feels like there are like 100 people on earth that know the material reality of why the salem witch trials happened
so many myths. was not based on the testimony of children. many people confessed themselves to being witches. i have their letters in books upstairs
we out here etching 3nm circuits on silicon using lasers and ultraviolet light so that this guy can use his iphone to trad-poast about the impossible detail of stone bricks.
I love Asturias for its mountains, beaches, cities & towns.
But its cuisine has a special place in my mind and stomach.
Here are 25 examples of food and drink that make the region a culinary capital of Spain:
