The three philosophy I would like to include in my agricultural education would be hands on learning; a safe space for students who may not have a safe space at home and promote critical thinking skills.

I personally resonate more with constructivists because I am more of a hands on learner rather than a book learner as I acquire more knowledge that way. I believe hands on keep people engaged in what they’re doing and I think hands on and agriculture go hand in hand.

What advice would you give to a first year teacher?
What do you think is the hardest part when teaching, especially in the beginning?
@WiseAggies
@pcmendoza04 Hi Pagelyn!
I’ve read another classmates post about feeling burnt out; I think, that being agriculture something that evolves almost daily, there will always be something new to teach and practice with our students.
@JohnsonHannahg Hi Hannah! What do you think would make you feel burnt out? I personally think this is a great field to teach, there is always something new to learn and therefore teach to our future students!
@codyb124 Hi Cody! I love the NC plant toolbox for the plant ID notebook. That’s all I used for our plant ID classes. I still have it and use it regularly!
@BenCasto414746 Hi Ben! I think hands on for our field is the best way, as you said; when I was learning Plant ID, pictures didn’t help but walking around, seeing in person and touching the plants we were studying that week helped a lot more!
@LeKeishaMoore25 Hi! I noticed we are taking 2 of the same classes together. Your photo is so beautiful!
Good luck this semester, I hope it goes well! ❤️
